What is the reasoning for putting the serrated section at the heel of the blade rather than toward the tip? And the reasoning for the relatively short amount of serrated section? Just curious. I don't fish so I actually don't know!
I'm not sure either but I don't think I've ever seen a combo edge with serrations at the tip.
I would probably prefer a longer serrated section, but when it comes to the placement:

Again, in the particular case of the Catcherman with a presumably flexible and not superstrong blade I think it makes perfect sense to put the part (the serrations) that is probably meant for tough work, ripping through fish bones and the like at the stronger, more rigid heel of the blade - ?
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Great timing indeed! My kit has been dusted off and I've seen stripers around Long Island already. It's going to be a great season.

Well, appearantly we Europeans can preoder in this shop

https://www.com2you-biwak.de/Spyderco-C ... NT-23.html

! I never did pre-order with them, but purchased several knives there. Sometimes a tiny bit higher prices, but otherwise only good experiences so far.

Com2youbiwak is a decent shop if you order something readily available, but their preorder strategy and availability is to be taken with a huge grain of salt, as not to say that they are purposely lying/misleading on the availability.
