I have the Spyderco Civilian. Lovely knife but not really a around the house kinda deal. What's a good all purpose blade?

Also looking for Linda Glass-Hart(?)'s email.

I concur, the Civie's not really a good
"house knife". The Delica might serve your

Soviet,I agree with Allen on the Delica being a great overall knife.If you need a slightly larger choice I'd suggest an Endura.Next up the line would be a Military.tom.<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I agree that the Delica is a great all round knife - it was my first Spyderco. A similar size, but one that I prefer, is the Native. A bit bigger is the Endura or a favorite of many, the Military. One thing about Spyderco, there's lots af variety and many great choices

If you want something a bit tougher than the Delica (especially if you are worried about the tip) you might want to try the Native.

Not a lot bigger than the Delica, but quite a bit stoughter. A very good all rounder.

Walk softly, carry a big stick.

I'm also a big fan of the Native (FRN,SE). The Dodo is another wonderful knife for all-around utility; mine goes everywhere with me.

Soviet,sorry for not mentioning the Native as did 4 s ter.I had one briefly.It just didn't fit my hand.If it fits your hand it would be a very good choice.

The Delica is an excellent choice. Small enough not to raise eyebrows, yet strong to cope with most of the cutting chores.
Not to mention it comes in a variety of flavors: FRN, SS, CF and even G-10 (well, you may consider the C05 Standard a C11 Delica after all) <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
If you're looking for a bigger knife, than the Military is the one: the best of the best.
And if you really want a strong, what do I say strong, a VERY STRONG all purpose knife, pick the Lil'T <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Yep, no doubt about it. The Delica's and Endura's are the back bones of the collection. They are by far the best oveall knives and they're CLASSICS in their own right.
Now wait for the next up-date of these trusted models....

If you can still find them: Tim Wegner (collaboration) combo edge.

These are all good examples, but if you want a real strong tip on a knife with the best handle and blade ergonomics don't forget the SS Pro-venator.

Another vote for the Native ; I tend to like the III model. It just seems to be more refined, although alot of people aren't too keen on the wire clip.

I have a delica, frn, plainedge I have recently ordered a carbon fiber delica plain edge. my vote is a delica! I have had my delica pe for 15 months now, and it is a very good edc. butI bet I am gonna like the carbon fiber one better!

If you're just gonna buy one, then buy the Delica or the Native. The Delica is lighter all around, but the Native is tougher. For a nice larger knife that's not too big, think ..... ENDURA ...
