How to make the Byrd Tern less stiff in closing?

My Byrd Tern that I got from the Seconds sale is so stiff in closing...as in, it requires the use of two hands to safely close the blade. Is it normal or is it because it's a Seconds? And any ideas on how to smoothen out and break it in so it can be closed with one hand?

Sorry to give you false hope. Other than a good lube I don't have any suggestions. I don't have a lot of experience with pinned Spydies and was hoping others would chime in.

I don't know how to make it less stiff, but my Tern also closes hard. It's not considerably stiffer than my slipjoint Spyderco models, but it is noticable.

I have three Terns. All close with a firm press with the thumb, one handed. No issues.Maybe I just got lucky. Great knife. Too good to lose so I bought three.

Try some Nano-Oil or similar light knife lubricant on the pivot. Work the blade open and closed about 50-100 times after applying. That should help break it in and reduce friction.

My Byrd Robin 2 SE was similarly very stiff opening and closing. A good dose of light gun oil and cycling it about a thousand times over the course of 2 weeks finally loosened it up.
