Since the Myto is hollow my guess is that lionSTEEL tried to do hollow on M398 and saw that it was too brittle or too expensive to grind and changed to flat.

Still interested in receiving mine when they hit Europe to see how it cuts !
Expensive? Maybe. Brittle? Definitely not. I'm sure spyderco wouldn't make it happen if there were any issues regarding the hollow grind M398.
Actually I feel like the exact opposite - excited to see a hollow grind spydie (Ilove my GB2) and M398 is an extra bonus. Depending on the bte thickness spymyto could be a good cutter despite the 4mm stock :tonque-out
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. L11:35

What I'm saying is that is is not hollow ground, and I was wondering why. It's not, I've asked to every people that got one already and it's flat ground :( I was excited too, only for the high hollow grind + M398 combo !

Edit : I see the confusion, when I wrote Myto I was referring to the original Myto, not the one Spyderco made
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Most every place says it’s out of stock; is that because all the preorders are spoken for, or because they haven’t received them just yet?
Probably some of both. Some sites had pre-orders, others havent. For the sites that did not have pre-orders, I heard May 3rd was the earliest anticipated date a distributor was expecting them, so the non-preorder sites will probably start dropping them in the next day and coming weeks. Keep your eyes peeled and signup for notifications from all the knife sites.

The huge gap between the lock bar and the scale really bothers me for some reason. The Drunken and a few other models also have a wide gap, as does the Lionsteel Myto. I don’t understand the purpose of cutting them like that, especially when I’ve seen other models from Spyderco and other manufacturers having much tighter ones. Seems like they would capture a lot more lint and gunk this way. It’s a great looking knife otherwise.

I4ve noticed that molletta's designs all have that in common when it comes to framelocks. lionSTEEL made several integrals so I do not think going thinner on the cut would be hard for them. Could be a designer's choice ?

The gap was the biggest hurdle for me to get over before giving Lionsteel a chance.

I'm still not sure I like it cosmetically, but after several years of carrying and using a Large LionSpy and SR1Ti, I've never found it to present any functionality issues or cause an unreasonable accumulation of debris.

It also looks way bigger in pics than it does in person, in my opinion anyway.

Just another data point: I picked up a SpyMyto at the SFO yesterday and the blade is flat ground.
