I want to get the UKPK LC200n plain edge. I'm able to get it in yellow or green scales.

I need you enablers to help me decide since i'm stuck on the fence.

For me the green option is the easy choice. But, who cares what I like?...it's about what you like.

Always trust your gut when choosing a knife. If your gut is telling you to choose one, go with it and you'll be happy with your choice. If it's really a 50/50 decision for you, have a little fun with it and try leaving it up to "fate".

Put a picture of both side by side on a dartboard. Aim for the center. Close your eyes and throw.

Then, tell yourself fate chose for you and it was meant to be. :winking-tongue

I’ll echo this idea, if you like them both pretty much evenly I’d make a blind choice.

On this forum, there is usually only one answer to the question of “which one?”

Both.

The only real option isn’t in the poll

“BOTH”

It's easy to dye yellow FRN orange, red, gray, black, brown, and almost any shade of green. Green FRN offers fewer options: orange and red are out. So from a practical standpoint, I prefer yellow because I often dye my knives.

On the other hand, I prefer unmodded green to unmodded yellow. If I were sure I'd never dye the handle, I'd go for green.

This is exactly my thought process. I picked up a yellow Salt 2 and dyed it a dark blue. Yellow has a lot more color options. If I wanted a darker green or if I were going to leave it as is, I'd go green.

Easy.
Order the yellow one so you can dye it red.
Both yellow and green are gross.

On Seki FRN salts I prefer yellow, but I’m not too stoked on the yellow FRCP from Golden.
It’s fine, but doesn’t have the pop that I associate with the visible hues of yellow normally used at sea.

I don’t have any green salts from Golden, but it’s my impression Golden has the best green and Seki has the best yellow. If you like a little pop, that is.

personally, i prefer yellow. i think it's more visible under more circumstances. i'm a huge fan of green, but i hate the toxic zombie green and the salt green is pretty close to that. it won't stop me from getting green salts, but if i had to choose, it would be yellow.

I like both colors. If you get green and get tired of it you can dye it forest green, British racing green, or other colors.

Toughest question in quite a while... ;)

But honestly, I don´t have a clear preference either.

Probably, since both are high viz colors anyway, I´d take the one that is even "more high viz" in MY usual environments... which probably would be yellow.

Since YOU obviously are a lot around water, green might be the better choice though (as Spydergoat pointed out already)

Another tiny point: Should you care about the looks of your knives (I don´t much personally), but not feel like cleaning them all the time:
I think the yellow scales look "ugly and dirty" a bit more and a bit sooner than the green ones
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

You're a fisherman and if you're not a strictly catch & release kinda guy, you need both a serrated and PE version. Culinary care requires bleeding many fish species and serrated is the go to for slittin' gills. My thinking is one color for serrated and the other for PE. I already have a serrated UKPK LC200N in yellow. When the MagnaCut UKPK comes out I will be getting a green PE model.
