Very very cool

who sells them?
The guy that makes them is a forum user on here, his handle is FullScaler - give him a shout. You can see more of his stuff at his website (https://bladeprotection.com/mule-team-scales/) but I would suggest just sending him a DM if you're interested in buying some. :respect

That is really elegant.
Would love to see a pic of your workshop. What tools did you use to make them.
I'd like to get into the hobby.

Thank you. I used a table saw to cut the small pieces of wood and a Dremel with a router bit and after that sanding drums to remove the wood, shaping the handles. After that hand sanding going from 80 grit up to 1000 grit. This is the second pair of scales I made so just started the hobby. I am looking into a belt sander which is more convenient for shaping the scales. Just keep gripping the scales until they are to your liking. I know this sounds obvious, but take your time shaping the wood and don't remove big chunks and you might remove too much.

I’m really loving these new Halpern Titanium Ultem scales. They look beautiful and provide plenty of grip. I’d buy some if I were you.

Thanks. I've had the sheath for a while and wanted to whip up some scales to match. Very happy with how the color turned out.

First off, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This is my very first mule blade handle, not my first knife handle. I’m still learning a lot. I haven’t been satisfied with the blanks I’m getting over the last couple of years from knife making supply stores or most anywhere for that matter. In my quest, I saw an obscure little post that mentioned this forum. I soaked up all the mule history, etc. and figured I’d get a SPY27 blade and check it out. I believe the night I received it was the night I ordered more lol. AEB-L, K294 and more 27’s. They’re beautiful. I’m hooked! So here’s my test blade, my very first Mule born (final polish) on Thanksgiving. The handle is made of Alder sparred burl, buckeye burl and black G-10 liner with titanium Corbys. I hope it measures up. Thank you.

Excellent job on the handles! Really like the two tone and combination of materials with that finish.

Carved some shavings off of a piece of padauk wood for some epoxy scales I’m making. Going to add padauk, black locust and canary wood chips to the epoxy and then sand them when dried and see what I get. Might take canary wood dust and mix it in the epoxy at the top of the handle, false bolster like look (?). Could use some suggests on sandpaper. My wife got me a 1” x 30” belt sander but it’s hard to find belts for it in the area I live. Could use suggestions. Live in South Puget Sound area. Or maybe a reliable online place I can order belts from?

Made these scales to represent Syracuse University colors where my daughter goes to school. My daughter did the coloring but I’m not sure the blue is dark though and the orange sparkles don’t look very orange anymore.
