Show off your Mule team scales!

#1

Post by alphaneuron9 »

I'm kind of new here and would like to invite all of you to show off your Mule team scales, either custom or purchased. Such an awesome customizable aspect to the whole mule team concept. specify if custom or purchased and where purchased... Maybe suggest where to pick some up for my new mule :bug-red-white

And while you're add it mention the steel and what you love about it?

Really cool Larry !

I'm working on some natural stabilized burl scales at home, screw construction this time. I'll try to make pictures once I get my hands on them again :open-grin
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Robin. Finally made an IG : ramo_knives

If I've been waiting for a chance to show off some of my 3D-printed resin scaled mules, then I guess the time has come to spill a few pictures. These scales are from FullScaler here on the forums - he has his own business with scales available. They are super light, have been very durable so far, fit my XL hands great, and they work pretty well with sheaths designed for the Halpern scales (like the Spyderco bolteron and the AZ Welke taco). It's hard to overstate how cool they look in person, particularly the clear resin, which has a pearlescent-type sheen that is hard to capture. A big benefit to scales that look like this is your very useful fixed blade knife is transformed in the eyes of the lay onlooker from "scary knife" to "fun looking tool".

Now that it's autumn I've been spending a plenty of time in the forest gathering some of my favorite foods to fill the freezer. Enough with the text, the OP request was for pictures...

The guy that makes them is a forum user on here, his handle is FullScaler - give him a shout. You can see more of his stuff at his website (https://bladeprotection.com/mule-team-scales/) but I would suggest just sending him a DM if you're interested in buying some. :respect
