I'd say Tennessee came to play football. The other team didn't.
Doc, I so hope Ty Simpson transfers to Tennessee
Especially with Milroe coming back to Alabama- this could be the best thing ever happen to the Vols or whoever gets Simpson
Simpson is 3x the QB that Milroe is imo - he just needs PT. I really feel Simpson has what it takes to be an N.F.L. Quarterback as well.
I dunno, I know I'm really biased towards Simpson but, he's a small town Tennessee kid that played for a 2A High School (Westview Chargers - same school Green Bay Packers Guard Chad Clifton played) - he led them to a State Championship over the Hampton Bulldogs - Doc, you know where Hampton is. Right below Roan Mountain- where Watauga Lake is.

Yeah, its not far from Dogtown or Elizabethton in the Tri-Cities area.

Welp, Ty Simpson shall return to Alabama for his red shirt Sophomore season.
He'll be behind red shirt Junior Jalen Milroe
Unless he can beat out Milroe for the starting position. Which I've absolutely no doubt he can if given actual playing time (in an actual game & not practice)
At any rate, next season should be fun as Tennessee play Oklahoma at Oklahoma
I may just try to go to that game if I can get a ticket
Really glad Texas will be in the SEC as well. That's another place I'd love to go - the ultimate being the Tony the Tiger 🌞 Bowl in El Paso, Texas.

I'm definitely pulling for Washington. If Michigan wins, it will send a strong 'cheaters always prosper' message. And if the NCAA vacates the win after the fact, that will be an even bigger circus.

Georgia's season next year looks brutal. Playing at Texas, at Alabama and at Ole Miss is quite a gauntlet. If they make it through that they will definitely earn a play off spot.

Random thought. I think Kirby Smart ought to hire JT Daniels for the Georgia coaching staff.

Well, if it had been up to me I'd have put Georgia in long before I would've Texas.
2 Back 2 Back National Championship's ought to entitle a team 1 loss, especially to Nick Saban
I know, Texas beat Nick Saban & Alabama but, Texas hasn't won back 2 back Nattys either
- that's neither here nor there though.
Kirby Smart's the best coach in College Football imo, - used to be Saban but, Kirby Smart is doing an absolutely incredible job.
Btw, concur /JT Daniels

Michigan really shut down Washington last night.
That defense is really special.

I wonder if he told Ty Simpson he was going to retire & Simpson stayed anyway
From the way it read, Saban was the main reason Simpson didn't hit the transfer portal
Which, if Simpson didn't knkw Saban was gonna retire then that's bound to cause sore feelings with Simpson. OTOH, Simpson is a big boy & there's no law saying Nick Saban has to stay and coach Alabama. Gonna be very interesting to see what Simpson says.
Man, I would've loved to seen Simpson transfer to Tennessee

So, who is coaching at Alabama next year?

The way I see it the top candidate has to be Lane Kiffin (if he wants the job, and assuming his buyout at Ole Miss isn't too much). He's got Alabama history, head coaching experience, has already done his 'new head coach growing pains' somewhere else, and now seems to be putting together a pretty good program.

The other real candidates I see are Steve Sarkisian (would he be willing to leave Texas?) and Dan Lanning (is he ready to take that big a step yet?). They both have Alabama history, and they both have head coaching experience, but Lanning is new as a head coach (2 years) and Sarkisian looks like he is turning around a program with major history.

Heck, if it were me though, I'd get Dabo Swinney
He went to Alabama & played under Gene Stallings if not mistaken.
He would be my #1 choice
What he did at Clemson was just incredible.
