Is there any word if Spiderco will do a PM2 with Magnacut soon? I would be really keen to pick one up :bug-red-white

Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah new to the forum and still getting used to it. Actually my first reply so hope I am doing it right.

Sadly had to give up my old PM2 at the airport after I forgot it in my backpack. I was so sad. But it does mean I get to buy a new Spiderco. Even though I love to get a new PM2 and custom it a bit I will always buy the steel I want over a nice design.

And I really do love what I see about MagnaCut. Not just because Larrin Thomas is actually a knife enthusiast so feels right supporting him in a way but just that MagnaCut seems to have that sweet spot of traits that I want in a knife. Like the middle of a Ven Diagram.

Anyway I ended up buying a Spiderco Salt with Magnacut in a plain blade today from a local seller here in New Zealand. But will keep an eye out for a a PM2 with MagnaCut. That is ultimately what I really want. Lets hope we hear something soon

O jeez cool. No idea why they faf around with the salt branding. Just call it PM2 with MagnaCut. Some marketing person getting carried away a little.Or call it PM2 Larrin haha. At least it woudl show some respect and support for Larrin.

Anyway I bought a little Native 5 today with Magnacut. I hope to see the PM2 with magnacut soon. :bug-red-white

Wouldn't it be cool if they are also made of Magnacut. Hopefully not standard G10.

Likely LC200N. All the hardware and screws on are LC200N on the Native 5 LW Salt in MC as far as I know. Which is awesome. Sometimes they use titanium clips and such too on Salt knives, but either way it’ll be something that is unlikely to rust

Nice, so basically a Caribbean construction with Magnacut blade 👍

When it becomes feasible for me to buy any other knife again, this one is at or near the top of my list.

The handle texture looks like a slightly rougher version if the Caribbean's, with a similar (but less smooth) flat spot for the clip to contact on. When it is finally available, I would have to read whether owners report that it clips and unclips smoothly, or if it's a pocket shredder.

I’m afraid once this comes out there won’t be a reason for me to ever buy another knife again. Maybe Spyderco knows this and will take their time releasing it haha…

that would be a great knife.

remember when lc200n came out and there was talk about pretty much everything in the golden line getting salt versions? i can't be the only one that remembers that. it would be very cool to see all of the heavier hitters from golden get this treatment with lc200n or magnacut.

Hi Stas,

The new texture shown is to define the model as a Salt. In this case, Salts made in the Golden factory. There are no liners in the model shown so we can more easily create a Salt version.

Yes, there are many MagnaCut models in the works.

The Caribbean is actually lined; the liners just masterfully nested. But, as Sal has just said, the PM2 Salt is not lined.

Hi Sal,

Thank you very much for the reply. I appreciate it!

Now this is amazing… the first linerless compression lock knife in G10! Not only this is Magnacut PM2 everyone asked for, this basically is also PM2 lightweight everyone dreaming about in its best possible form. I was so ignorant comparing it to Caribbean in this and other thread. I’m speechless now…

Is this definitely happening? If it does will that constitute the "pm3" designation? Or do we have to wait for major design changes in order for that to happen?
