Identification help

#1

Post by Larry_Mott »

Hi!
I wonder if someone can shed some light on who customised this Dragonfly.
It belonged to Jurphaas (R.I.P.)
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers!

Wow that is a nice Dragonfly with a great story behind it!
I can not tell you much but for as far as i have seen on its blue stone part its maybe a customized santa fé stonework’s knife that was maybe partially altered with stag by a custom knifemaker ?
Its a very beautiful one in my opinion Congratz!

Whatever you discover, Larry, that’s quite the acquisition. Congratulations.

Wow that is awesome! If I were guessing I'd also say Santa Fe Stoneworks...

By the way. Something gives me the idea Sal could know more about this one.
Since he was very close to Jurphaas.

I have heard people guess it might be a David Yellowhorse custom, anyone familiar with his work who can chime in?

That is beautiful. I want one of those sheaths! Hope you find out who made it. I want to know if they're still in business.

Jur (R.I.P) had a lot of customized pieces. I don't know who did that one. My guess would be Santa Fe Stone works but that would be just a guess.

What a beautiful dragonfly. If it had a a polished steel bolster instead of the turquoise I think it would look even cooler

Joyce has already contacted SFSW but it's not one of theirs. The mystery remains..

With Santa Fe Stoneworks ruled out, I wonder if this knife is a one-off Yellowhorse embellishment.
