Looking for Gurus to follow

Hello,
I am looking for knife experts in the forum that I should pay extra attention to due to their years of experience. I know some of you might want to remain anonymous and I respect that. Not looking to bug anyone just want to follow them in the forum to learn from them.
Thanks ahead of time.
P.S. could use a good link or advise on knife handles.

The 4 that immediately come to mind are: Larrin, Phil Wilson, Deadboxhero (Triple B Handmade), and of course, Sal.

Very good list.
I would add Michael Janich to that list as well.

Those are all legit gurus in the knife biz. There are several more of those, but I can't remember their names. A couple of forumites who post a lot of useful info, but aren't in the biz are Evil D and Vivi. There are a bunch more, but those immediately come to mind.

Don't forget Chad Kelly (Xplorer). Makes some incredibly beautiful pieces, and is always willing to share information.

I don't like leaving anybody out but, Xplorer is the first person that came to mind.
I really like FullScaler's work also.
And Ramonade seems like a budding handle wizard to keep an eye on.

Stuart Ackerman seems to know which side the edge is on ;-)

Yes, but what type of guru are you looking for?
Sal Glesser is a guru’s guru, replete with aphorisms that require contemplation, such as: “The edge is a ghost.” Contemplate on that until you achieve enlightenment.
Larrin Thomas is a hardcore scientist, and can give you a formula for CATRA of the form that y = b1*x1 + b2*x2 + … bi*xi. If science is your thing, then Dr. Thomas is your Einstein.
Shawn/Deadboxhero/Triple B is more like your drill sergeant. “You confused chromium carbides with vanadium carbides?! Drop and give me twenty!”
Chad Kelly is like your favorite professor in college or teacher in high school. He’s been there, done it, and is looking out for your best interests, trying to give you a leg up.
Michael Janich is like your buddy from Special Forces. If you claim him as your guru, you can walk down the darkest alleys with no fear.
I don’t know the other folks making appearances in this thread well enough to give you their style, but the five above I consider all gurus to me, to one degree or another.

Hi Vandyman,
Phil Wilson, Ed Schempp, some of my Guru's. however, I'd like to point out that on this forum; "We are all teachers and we are all students". I learn something almost everyday from the folks that visit here. Many are very knowledgeable about knives in general, Spyderco in particular and much sharing of personal experiences difficult to find anywhere.

Evil D has ran some great tests on serrated edges. He really opened me up to trying se more.
Vivi has some great experiences to share regarding low sharpening angles and coarse edges.
Surfingringo is the king at testing the corrosion resistance of stainless steels, and showing just how much you can neglect knives in the salt line. Although I haven’t seen him post much these days.
Among others, I look forward to reading what these guys have to write.

Michael Janich if you are interested in the defensive use of the blade.
And Sal is Sal.

Surfingringo(Lance Clinton) and Xplorer(Chad Kelly) are my gurus. Sal is... Sal. Sometimes I think Sal was born to be a knife guru. A true legend. Enough said.

Love it. But you know now that you told me not to, I’m going to have to.

Thanks

everyone. Oddly enough you all forgot one person each. I tend to read everything I see posted by each one of you.
And to the 3 “not me” amigos - I’m adding you to the pay attention to list.
Now I need to figure out how to follow individuals in the forums. Is it the friend or foe options that let you follow peeps?
