15V, after the mule, what's next?

#1

Post by cjk »

I'm wondering "out loud" if there's going to be more 15V after the MT39P mule. I'm hoping it's a yes.

Any hopes or guesses about what might be next? Only Golden, Colorado stuff is likely applicable.

My hopes are for the Para 3, Native 5, and lil Native wharncliffe.

Any thoughts, hopes, or dreams?

I'm hoping that 15V becomes to Golden what K390 is to Seki.

I’ll take a Lil Native, in any flavor. Compression lock, backlock, wharncliffe… doesn't matter to me, just make it a 15V Lil Native and I’m in.

My dream would be for 15v to replace Maxamet in the regular line up and make Maxamet the occasional Sprint steel. Others have said this before me, of course.

I'd love to see the Military Model in 15V. 15V would cause me to buy a Military 2, as well. Not sure S30V will.

Truth told, I'd be happy to see any of the larger folders in 15V.

That makes a whole lotta sense. For my purposes, K390 outperforms all the other steels I've dabbled with. Then BBB15V comes around, and it seems to be just as good.

I don't use them equally. The K390 gets a little harsher use because I know it can easily be replaced. If BBB15V is a one-time deal, then it will be used in moderation.

Who knows maybe 15V will replace K390 and Maxamet…. Technically if falls between the two in performance but in use it showing easier to sharpen and better edge retention than thought.

I agree after three bigs why not go Lil Native ? It would be nice to see a smaller knife in this steel and the Lil Native has a nice group of variations to choose from if Golden wants to goin that direction . MG2

How about a Spyderco Native Chief in 15V? Set the initial limit at 2 and I'll buy 2. If they don't move change the max/household to 4 and I'll buy 4.

I have 3 in M390, still have 1 more that I can/will buy. Not sure why there is still a limit of 2/household. I'd buy more than 1 more given the chance. My mom and brother want some I am sure. They are too cheap to buy them, so I buy their knives and give them each one. It's how they get all of their knives. I'm buying for 4 people but am limited to 2/household.

These are once in a lifetime buys. Save your pennies and buy now for they will not be available again.

Still looking forward to the Triple B collab myself. A Native 5 or Para 3 wouldn't hurt my feelings at all though.

The BBB design is the obvious answer for next 15V knife right?

I guess other knives might come first, but it’s the only one after the Mule we actually know to expect, especially for regular production.

Other knives from Golden I think would work well in the steel include Military 2, Native Chief, Lil’ Native Wharncliffe, and Waterway.

I like BBB’s designs, so I’m looking forward to being able to try one. It seems to have a relatively large blade and that is another thing I’m looking for. Note most of my suggestions have a lot of edge length.

The exception being the small wharncliffe because that’s about the only small knife design I’m interested in right now.

Alongside a lot of edge length, I think a more lightweight knife would be good. I’m not sure how lightweight BBB’s design will be, so I’m thinking of the upcoming Lightweight Native Chief. (Honestly, for the Native Chief Lightweight specifically, I’m really hoping for Rex45).

I got the 15V Manix before we knew about the PM2 or Shaman, which I am happy with.
I bought it support the project and try the Manix’s lock, but I want more edge.

Native 5 is my favorite Golden pattern. Crossing my fingers. Lil Native would do as well.

Native5 seems like a given, hopefully Military. Vote with your money. We buy 15v, they make more 15v. I too hope it replaces Maxamet, unrealisticly hoping they keep that sexy gray.

I’d like to see a 15V military, native 5 and lil native wharncliffe. I’m curious to see what the BBB collab model looks like and hope, they make 15V a production steel and not wait for the BBB collab model to be their 15V production model. I plan on buying it anyway, but want as much 15V as I can get.

I’m enjoying my 15V Shaman a lot, but if I could choose any knife for the 15V treatment it would be either a Yojumbo, a Military 2 or a larger fixed blade.

I'd get probably any of my favorite models in this steel, but it would also be convenient for it to come in something I don't have yet so I can cross off two things on my list, so maybe a Chief, Military 2, it also needs brought out in a slicy Golden made fixed blade (aside from the mule).

Seems like a killer way to debut the Military2.

I hope for a Native 5 G10 and Native 5 LW.
And I hope the G10 version won't cost 250 to 300 € in Europe :)
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.
