"Life is short so try and enjoy it while we can." More like, "Life is short so try and enjoy it while we can!"

That's what I am doing! Today I received a shipment of award winning California olive oil that is allegedly high in polyphenols and is very healthy for you, and it was so different than the olive oils that I usually order. I'm just trying to stay involved and passionate about life. Everyone should do that, that is what this forum is about...being passionate about life through the collection of well made knives.

Highest polyphenol count olive oil I've found!

https://www.sanmiguelolivefarm.com/

Olive oil contains polyphenols, which are antioxidants that have many health benefits, including:
* Reduced inflammation: Polyphenols can help reduce inflammation and irritation in the digestive tract.
* Improved cardiovascular health: Polyphenols can lower LDL cholesterol levels, reduce high blood pressure, and decrease the formation of blood clots.
* Brain function: Polyphenols can help with memory, learning ability, and reversing age-related diseases that reduce brain cognitive skills.
* Better digestion: Polyphenols can help with digestion.
* Diabetes control: Polyphenols can help control blood sugar by increasing insulin secretion.
* Strengthened immune system: Polyphenols can help strengthen the immune system by increasing the number of white blood cells in the body.
* Mental health: Polyphenols can reduce stress, improve mood, and reduce risk of neurodegenerative disease

I only cook with extra-virgin olive oil, and have for many years.

Excellent EVOO "extra virgin olive oil" is expensive. The growers know what they have. They send their products to be tested, and they like anyone else tries to get the best bang for their product. EVOO polyphenol count for good olive oil is 200 to 600!!! I just bought some EVOO that had a polyphenol count near 600 for $65/500ml, and it is excellent, but how to afford this on a monthly basis I do not know. I go through quite a bit of olive oil here.

NOTE: polyphenols degrade with heat. To get the best bang for the buck, cook on low temps, and after you cook, then pour on more olive oil.

ALSO: for cereals and smoothies, blueberries are high in polyphenols, but do not mix with bananas! Bananas degrade the positive effect that the blueberries have! I just found this out today after...you guessed it, having a banana with blueberries on my cereal. I will not do that again.

Take care of yourself out there people!

I do not believe in giving up or giving in. The current day is my immediate struggle, and I'll push out my life as far as I can. 100 YEARS OR BUST!

I think that I am going to ask my doctors for Ozempic or Wegovy next month when I see them. I have 2 Drs appointments and I am going to present the facts and see what they say. I'll be active 3 to 5 days a week this Summer, but I need some help.

I want to get down to 165lbs ASAP. Right now I am back up to 220lbs! Last year I hit 190lbs and thought that I would keep losing weight, but I have a voracious appetite and with Winter(and no outdoor activities) I just packed it right back on. I'm worried about my heart, and the faster that I can shed the weight and keep it off the better.

Time to try something new.

I'm still taking most of my supplements, all of my prescriptions, and just added Ozempic.

I try to make sure to have refills for supplements before they run out, but it does not always work out that way. They are expensive, and I am saving for more knives(looking at adding one or more S90V and M390 Native Chiefs). Depending on the day, I have a different feeling about which to support, but I am thinking you have to buy the knives when they are available.

The Ozempic was something that took me a bit to pull the trigger on. I plan to walk 3 to 5 miles at least 3x a week, but have been busy taking care of the home and my mother who needs me 24x7.

I'd heard a few bad things about Ozempic but have been fighting to go from 220+ lbs down to at least 170lbs for over 2 years. My diet is almost 90% Mediterranean, so I eat well, I just have too slow a metabolism to burn off the weight.

My blood sugar and cholesterol readings should improve quite a bit. We shall see. My glucose reading this morning after taking supplements and prescription medication, and before breakfast was 91mg/dl. Not great but not terrible. Then I did my first Ozempic injection.

FULL SPEED AHEAD! 165lbs or bust!!!!
