New Police 4

Hey Y'all.
I just got my Police 4 SE K390
This is a great utility knife for camping or anything around the house.
It came in perfect shape and the K390 blade is coated with grease to protect the steel.
The handle shape provides many different grips to my XL hand.
Great job Spyderco.

I have a PE Police 4 and love it. Checked the spyderco store just now to see the SE K390 is in stock! Been waiting on the restock for a while — thanks for the reminder.

My P4 is a SE K390 and I got it at Knifeworks. They still have them in stock.

Isn't it, though? There are a couple Spydies that I think are aesthetically superior, but you just can't beat the Police's looooong blade that fits so nicely into the pocket.

It's heaven for long time Endura users.
Carries just as easy and gives you a blade like the Military.

I was looking for a Military SE but couldn't find one so I got the P4 SE K390 instead.

As a big of the Police series I still carry the PE & SE flavors of both the Police3 & 4 on a fairly regular basis, no matter how many other options I may have, it's just a dang good platform.

We have similar taste in design.
I designed the P4 for me. With 30 years of continually refining the model, I decided to create the ideal version for my tastes.
K390 was another one of my pet projects from first; studying the chemistry, getting some from the foundry (special order took 11 months) , testing it with Mules, working with the maker to heat treat and grind full flat with no coating (A major task in grinding) to production pieces.
What you have in that model is the result of years of passion and tenacity. Enjoy!

)
I´d love to hear your experience on how hard (or not) serrations in K390 are to sharpen for you!!

I never got the stretch, The P4 had the Blade length that I was after. I can't say how hard the K390 is to sharpen yet.
My little finger on my right hand can attest to the sharpness of the blade. OUTCH!

If the Straight Spine Stretch is getting some laminated ZDP, think the P4 LW could too? I know it is already available in K390, but ZDP is such an odd steel. I think it would be fun to have in this model.
