Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

I've been getting acquainted with the forum, and was inspired by Jazz's thread which led to the Delica wharnie (here:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=70607). In the spirit of that thread, what is an area of the current Spyderco lineup (i.e. not including retired models) that you think leaves something to be desired?
To get us started, I would love to see three new things:
- A larger (3") version of the Dragonfly with a high edge hardness/retention tool steel. Preferably still as thin as possible. I know the Caly Jr. is a past favorite, but unfortunately they are no longer in production.
- A thin, light, low-height EDC blade. Something in the 2.5"-3.5" blade length range would make sense. I love the Delica and enjoy my Para3 LW as well, but I think the Spydie-hole in both of these causes the knife to jut into the pocket too much in certain situations. I'm thinking of something like a thiner Smock with less choil and recessed liners.
- A smaller knife with the BBL, like a mini-Manix 2 or Manix 2 LW. The Manix is a bit large for my use, but would still like to carry a BBL more frequently.
What do you think?

Yeah I’d say for the dragonfly one just bring back the Caly line.. the dragonfly’s unique handle shape is perfectly refined to its size

- Chaparral XL or new model with its thin (2mm) ffg blade, its also thin handle and its great backlock in about Endela size
- "Endela Salt"
- Midsized Native: So a "true" Native (backlock, thinner blade, slim handle
and by that NOT the Shaman) in the popular size between Native 5 and Chief
- Manix 2 in full SE

There are several knives I'd like to see, but it's hard to call them gaps because they are personal wishes that I doubt most would want.
But large-bladed Salt folders is definitely a gap. There is nothing in the Military/Stretch XL/Police/Resilience size category.
A related gap is the high-end Salt. There is no Ti-MagnaCut Military with LC200N liners, for instance. No Chaparral Salt.
There is no filet knife of any type.

i would be surprised if the stretch 2 xl salt isn't imminent.
and what about the spydiechef for a high-end salt? that's kind of how i see mine. i would definitely not turn away more models like it though.

Maybe "slicey folder" is a gap. Spyderco doesn't tend to make particularly slicey knives. They cut pretty well, but all would cut better with 1 mm less stock thickness and better BTE thickness. Some are downright wedgy.

There are no Spyderco swords. How about a 30 inch long blade with the Military blade shape? 15v or magnacut should be fine.

In all seriousness I do think a fixed blade Military with a roughly 6 inch blade would be fantastic, been wanting one for years. S30v, VG10, 154cm I'll take it.

There are gaps in Spyderco's lineup? What? No Litlr Lil Native or Jumbo Native Chief?
Honestly, there are times when I'm overwhelmed by all the models and variations. So personally, I don't think there needs to be more hair splitting. I do welcome new models but I'd much rather see new designs instead of the same ol' thing in a different size
The larger Dragonfly thing has been brought up a whole bunch of times. What makes the Dragonfly design so brilliant is that it's a tiny knife that you can get 3.5 - 4 fingers on. I don't see the point in making it bigger. There's already several models in the 3" - 3.5" range

Hopefully you're right about the Stretch XL Salt. It's my version of your Manix Salt. I'm waiting with bated breath (and I want the Manix, too)!
My bad about the Spydiechef. Totally spaced on that one. I'll call the gap "Too few high-end Salt folders."

For me, the biggest disappointment or gap in Spyderco's lineup is the absence of a good fillet knife either fixed or folding.

I think that makes sense. I too would love to see more and more new designs, especially vs. just steel variations (though I like these). I guess my descriptions were more trying to flesh out an idea rather than request a “Dragonfly XL”, etc.

Yes, this is one reason the rumored High Performance Delica intrigues me. I’m all for more slicey and less chunky blades in the <3.5” category.

We need way more knives like the Pingo, Lava, Techno, and hopeful Microjimbo. Small yet absurdly capable. That is Lil Big Knife City. Can go clipless in pocket but definitely not a full size knife. I really like having the option of in the pocket carry. Basically the J Frame revolver of folders

I like this. I'm a sucker for a super small, useful blade.

All these are nice suggestions, but for me the biggest gap I see is the lack of a double blade knife , one PE and other SE . We are definitely due an upgraded redesigned Dyad in two different sizes . MG2

i think the s2xl salt might be the only thing that could dethrone my pacific. that knife would be really great.
and i agree that more nice salts would be cool. that's why i was asking for a gb2 salt recently.

I'd never use a 30 inch blade, but an 18 inch Magnacut blade would be cool. I've been looking at blades on TFW(Traditional Filipino Weapons) and a few other sites for Roman short swords. My training would be a benefit for blades up to 20 inches in length.
