First Spyderco in 2023

What’s your first Spyderco in 2023?

Picked up a super blue D4 the other day. My first Spyderco (and first knife) for 2023.

Factory outlet had plenty of uniformed and non-uniformed customers when I dropped in during the lunch hour. Display cases were fairly well stocked compared to my last visit some time ago. Randall section is now almost gone so I am wondering if those are going away? Best hot apple cider in town!

I’ll be back to get the super blue D4 wharncliffe, hope they haven’t run out of hot apple cider by then!

15V Paramilitary 2 was my first of 2023.

Stretch 2 K390. And picked up that Super Blue D4 too. Love both so far.

I picked up a Super Blue Delica 4, too. I dusted off the edge with the Sharpmaker, smoothed out some little chips, and it's now like a razor.

Mine already has a patina on the Super Blue. Towards the plunge cut on one side the patina crosses over on to the SUS410. I figured some of the Super Blue was ground down and deposited on to the SUS410. Flitz took it off the SUS410.

I've seen the stock on the Randal knives wax and wane over the years. I think the supply is down because the Outlet hasn't received any new stock lately.

i bought my 15v manix at the end of last year, but i left it boxed until a couple of days ago when i got some putman micarta scales and a brass ball cage. this will likely be my #1 for the rest of my life. i'll still cycle through my collection, but this is basically the pinnacle for me.

My first knife of 2023 is the 15V PM2 I ordered yesterday. Got shipping notification this morning and can't wait.

SuperBlue Dragonfly not coated. Perfect little knife for overseas travel for me. It won’t draw attention but it seems very capable, more than it’s size would lead you to think.

Also shout out to the Spyderco factory, they included the 2023 catalog and a pair of stickers, awesome!!!!!

So far only a Pacific salt serrated blacked out H2......I am pretty much done buying 12+ knives every year spending 2k+. Price increases have killed the hobby for me.

It must be fun being near the SFO. I'd probably be there every week just to hang out if I worked close by.

My first for 2023 was an oldie but goody, the 440V Chinook

I just remembered eBay has a record of purchases. My first of 2023 was a GIN1 Worker. What a marvel.

A better question is, what is going to be my 'second' Spyderco of 2023?

Edit: Just remembered. K390 Enuff is on preorder. I guess these three should keep me bussy for a while.

Wow - 1981… had you purchased that new I wouldn’t blame you for not remembering…wasn’t that spyderco’s first knife?

Mine’s a C01P so I’d guess it was produced during 1994-1997. The earliest Workers didn’t have a “C” SKU.
