Am I misremembering? I thought the production Lil' N5 was supposed to be in BD1N.
You are not mistaken. It seems that this bit of info from the "soft reveal(s)" has most likely been rescinded and will now be released in S30V. These little "extra" models that are not in the reveals, but are spoken of and quite literally, revealed, waaaaaay ahead of schedule at Blade, SHOT, etc. show(s) is becoming more of a soured taste when they decide to change the recipe after stating the ingredients. This could have been a mistake on Mr. Blonde's part, however, so I will be riding this one out until "official" reveal and release.

I'll take S30V with choil and spine serration over smooth BD1N, though it will likely be more expensive in S30V...

Another thought is that more than a few past prototypes have been made in S30V, despite their final production version being a different steel.
