Alabama and Florida are now home to the invasive love bugs from South America. They are not native and nothing will eat them. They form clouds so thick they will splatter on the windshield of the car an inch deep and drivers can't see how to drive. Motorcycles have to stay off of the roads because these bugs make it slippery ad they will stop up noses, cover glasses and face shields. Terrible.

The South is also home to the invasive fire ant, which is spreading to Northern states, now. They do more than 6 billion dollars in crop and livestock damage, not to mention hospital bills for people stung by them.
I Pray Heaven to Bestow The Best of Blessing on THIS HOUSE, and on ALL that shall hereafter Inhabit it. May none but Honest and Wise Men ever rule under This Roof! (John Adams regarding the White House)

Follow the Christ, the King,
Live pure, speak true, right wrong, follow the King--
Else, wherefore born?" (Tennyson)

Invasive species of insects is a completely horrendous problem all it's own. As Doc just said if they don't have predators that will eat most of them and keep them in check then your problem is potentially of Biblical proportions. I just hope that we also don't have a massive infestation of various rodents from other parts of the globe as well. However snakes will usually eat just about any rodent thank God so that might never become a major problem.

But the potential for invasive insects could be a serious problem with no apparent remedy that could upset the entire eco-system. Who the heck is watching the store so to speak while all this is going on here in the USA is my main question!!!!??????

Lionfish

It's painfully obvious how they spread far from their native environments; exotic fish enthusiasts releasing them into the ocean.
