I searched thru past topics manually and using the search function but could not find any info on the upcoming Military 2. More specifically, when it's going to ship/start showing up at retailers. I saw the 2023 upcoming list said Jan. 23 but I know the folks at Spyderco like to keep us guessing (I kid. It seems that way but most likely that's not the case at all).
So, I was just inquiring to see if anyone knew anything else. I have more PM2s than I should and I have way more Para 3s than I should but I've never even handled a Military. Needless to say when I saw the Military 2 announced I got that one of a kind Spyder bite itch again.
It seems to me like a few are probably already ordered:
- Knife Center Smooth G-10 + Cruwear
- BHQ M4 + Jade G10, or (my preference) Green Canvas Micarta
- St. Nick’s Red G-10 + 4V
- SFO Brown G-10 + M390
I hope that we also see:
- DLT OD Green G-10 + Cruwear
- BBS Ranger Green G-10 + K390
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I’ve had one of these on pre-order at KC for a while. I don’t know if preorder is still an option
I cannot wait for a cruwear, 4V or K390 option! I used to avoid tool steels (living in the tropics I was concerned about rust), but ironically all of my cruwear is absolutely fine here and the only rust I ever see is on the stop pin on my S90V Yojumbo.

man... we all about that likely CF/S90V Sprint run. lol. while I would LOVE an S90V variety (scales I don't really care as much about) I'll be happy with the standard S30V one too.
a jade/CPM-M4 one sounds like it'd be pretty sweet too tho
I'd love pretty much anything other than S30V/35VN, just for variety and steel-snobiety's sake ^^. Probably will cave and get the S30V version in the end but maybe get a custom blade for it (some more length, less needle'y tip and a unique steel choice maybe, I'm fine with the black G10)

So you"d actually order just a blade from a knifemaker for the Millie? Don't think I've ever seen someone doing that here... somehow a cool option though, generally, for some knives!

Where do you go for custom re-blades?
Got a local (Poland) forumite who dabbles in compression lock reblades :). Not commercially unfortunately, at least not yet
