What spydies did you gift to others for Christmas 2022?

I gave one of my favorite co-workers one of my NIB Pacific Salt 2's, all blacked out. He had been carrying a gas station knife and showed interest in my spydies, so I thought it would be a great intro to the brand. Didn't snap a picture of his but it looks just like this user of mine, with a factory edge of course:



Also got my kid her next Spydie. This is her first clip-it! She was excited to try out the clip but didn't have any pockets - didn't stop her though!



She already used it to open up a present for her cat.

She tried out a Dragonfly in a store last summer but had trouble activating the lock release. She's gotten strong enough to handle it now, and demonstrated very safe two handed opening and closing.

Third spydie in her collection and so far none of them have bit her. Trying to keep it that way!

Also got myself a C95, though I "opened" it early




What spydies did you gift this year?

My wife's family and mine do a white elephant gift exchange. I put in a Manbug Wharncliffe. My BIL got the first one. He doesn't like to clip his knife to his pants, so the first knife I got him does not get daily carry. He loved this one, so I'm guessing he will have it in his pockets a lot more.

Not a Spyderco, but also picked up a Leatherman Bolster for a coworker.

A lighter year of knife gifting than the past few years.

Gave my daughter’s boyfriend a Delica Zome Damascus exclusive. His eyes glazed over a little and he had a smile that was very obvious he loved it!

Recently gifted the Dragonfly in Zome Camo, but didn't gift any other Spydies for Christmas this year; perhaps next time!

It’s not a Christmas gift, but I gifted my dad a partially serrated and saber ground Endura for his Birthday earlier this December.
Honestly, he is very abusive to his knives and it’s been holding up well.

I got some Spyderco kitchen knives and a cutting board for us too. Most of my knives aren’t really just for me anyway.

Even though I’ve really taken a liking to it, I may gift my Endela to a friend before the year is out, but I haven’t had yet had the chance to see the person I have in mind.

I gifted the purple/black PM2 Cruwear to a dear friend who loves purple, and desperately needs a raging Spyderco addiction. She also walks to her car alone in the dark sometimes, and while she is CCW'ing it most of the time, I explained how for CQ situations, a PM2 can be just as effective (if not moreso) than a firearm, and she won't have hearing loss if she needs it in a parking garage.

We got my dad a PM2, while my son got an Ambitious. The show stopper was my daughter's Bug! Sooooo small! Everyone commented on it, great conversation starter! The Ambitious is a great knife as well! Been eyeballing that one for awhile. Perfect EDC for my son.

Oh yeah, the PM2 seems to be decent too!! Really think that it may catch on!

So I didn’t gift it personally. But a cool story…

I colleague at work called me and asked “I know your a gun guy but do you know anything about knives?” I really don’t parade around the fact that I like knives, unless asked, and boy was he in for an ear full!

Long story short, he was getting his son, 19, his first knife for Christmas. Sooner State Knives was able to rush deliver a G10 Para 3 S30V just in time for Christmas. Since they are both on Oklahoma.

I got a text Christmas Day saying how much he loved it and asking how to Spyder-flick and sharpen it! I think I hooked another one into the Spyder-Verse!
