I have 3 of the salt knives. I started with the large Pacific Salt. Then, I got the Native with the LC200N steel. Wow, great steel and sweet design but wanted bigger. Got the Caribbean and it is amazing. I take it snorkeling 2 to 3 times a week at this spot in the photo.
Please consider making a larger folder with LC200N steel like the Caribbean but with FRN handles. I think less parts would be better for a folding saltwater knife.
If they could make a FRN back lock Caribbean without changing the overall shape and still keep the edge just as close to the handle, I would buy several.
i love salts as well. i'm hoping to see a stretch 2 xl salt. it would have a slightly longer blade, but a slightly shorter cutting edge compared to the caribbean, but it would be so light and perfect for iwb carry. might even replace my beloved pac salt.
Going a bit OT, but I'd really like to see G10 Salt versions the Native Chief and Native 5. I know most prefer their Salts in FRN, but for me, some models simply feel better in G10.
Although it comes with G10 scales, don't forget the LC200N Siren --recently discontinued and available at a discount from some retailers this Black Friday weekend.
How about that Siren? It doesn't seem to be a part of the Salt line up. Do you think it would hold up to salt water? I would prefer it over the Pacific Salt...G10 and pointy blade shape. I snorkel by myself so a pointy blade gives a little reassurance.
Also, where is the cheapest you have seen it? Looks like about $150 is what I'm seeing.
These black friday deals are hard to resist. LC200N is my favorite steel at this point. I'm considering the UK Pen Knife in LC200N. Anybody like that one for EDC? Any other killer Black Friday deals that I should check out. For EDC I don't need a huge knife. Prefer light, ergonomic, pocket friendly, etc.

The only way to make a Caribbean Lock-back with the edge close to the handle would be "Handle Forward", and my preference would be FRN.
Here's a look on the inside after 6 months of regular use as a dive knife with fresh water rinse. The pivot was a little stiff a couple weeks ago so I sprayed a little ballistol in the pivot screws. Cleaned up real nice. Hard to beat these Salt knives.
I've actually been wanting the exact opposite. I like LC200N sheepsfoot knives and I like the bumblebee look, but the caribbean has always been too large and heavy to be practical for me. I also find compression locks tricky if I'm wearing gloves.
Something like a caribbean sheepsfoot that's the size of a lil' native or maybe a chaparral would be perfect for me. It's rare to find sheepsfoot knives and there are also no small LC200N knives that I'm aware of.

That's what I figured, and that sounds a lot like the Cliff Jumper and Sequoia concepts, although they'd have a good bit more thumb ramp than a Caribbean I think the end result would be close enough I could live with it.

native, ukpk, salt 2, subway bowie, swick.....there's a lot of small LC200N knives.
i would've sworn that we were going to see a lil native salt by now after hearing about a lil native lw on the horizon. that was years ago now though and there hasn't been much talk of it since. i hope the manix 2 lw salt doesn't suffer the same fate.

By small, I meant something around the size of the lil native or maybe a dragonfly. Something like a mini atlantic salt would be nice.
