K390 Manix 2

#1

Post by Big_Tex »

Dear Sal and Eric,

1. Spyderco makes amazing knives
2. I absolutely love k390
3. I absolutely love the Manix 2
4. Therefore, my letter to Santa this year is for a k390 Manix 2!

Any chance the elves at the Spyderco Branch of the North Pole could make that kind of knife magic come to life anytime soon?

I know this topic has been discussed, but man oh man would I love to see this combo!

If it comes in Micarta, I'll give it a shot.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Sure I would love to see a Manix2 in this steel . Spyderco has a very full plate at this time . Seeing this release would if ever , definitely be down the road . I wish I was wrong and just my gut feeling . MG2

Sure, it will have to have a DLC coating.A K390 Manix 2 XL DLC would be even better.

Absolutely I would be in if it was G-10. But if I am lucky enough to land a Manix 15v I am not sure I would get both.

I wouldn't mind one of the linerless lock back Manix in K390, too.

I mean, of course this would be cool. At this point I'm not going to hoot and holler for it to be made though, as I'm well stocked on K390 and am looking forward to the 15V Manix.

Something strange must be going on with this K390 Manix 2 combo, or even a K390 Shaman. They have got to be the only two knives that have not gotten the K390 treatment so far, right?

This does get brought up about three or four times a year. ;)

As another no so fun fact. The Manix 2 Maxamet, never did get G10 either. It's a conspiracy I tell ya! ',:-|

One of my thoughts as to a reason why the Manix 2 and Shaman have not gotten K390 yet, is that they may be holding out on this combo for a Dealer to pick up as an Exclusive. :thinking

The Manix line often gets less love from Spyderco.
The Manix XL has had only 1 sprint run. ( I do not count the 3 exclusives since they are generally for US consumers only and someone else then spyderco wanted them to make it) The XL has never got a maxamet version nore did it get a rex 45 sprint and to make things even more rediculous it even never got the s110v blurple variant. So this is a real conspiracy k think surtain people inside spyderco can not handle it that the Manix is such an amazing design i can only guess that it is because they did not help Eric in creating it...

Yeah if it's regular production absolutely. Been waiting on that 15V BBB model like everyone else but not sure what my chances will be of getting one. If I can't, a regular production K390 Manix 2 would fill that void for me.

At least speaking on the XL, I imagine it's because of the blade length. The length puts it out of reach for a lot of people that can't legally carry past a certain length, such as myself. For example, I can legally carry a PM2 at 3.42" where I live, but can't legally carry a Shaman at 3.58". That extra ~0.16" makes it that much more dangerous apparently :-||

Although, the Shaman has a had a number of sprint runs, so who knows.

That sucks for you friend. And are they actively searching for pocket knives where you live? Because i live in a country where everything and at the same time nothing go’s… But no officers will ever check you unless you maybe run in the an airport or a goverment building with it. :woozy

And i fear for it that the XL ever gets some love since its way older then the shaman. But i will keep trying for it! Someday someone will have hear me. :squinting-tongue

Of the Golden models, only the PM2 and Para 3 came in K390. Other Golden models in K390 that would be a buy for me are Manix 2, Military, Shaman, Native 5, Chief, and UKPK. Manix 2 G10 and Native 5 G10 are top of the list.
