FRN Mini Dyad reboot interest?
Is there interest on a K390 reboot of this knife? Which Japanese maker was the maker? I missed out on the last one and now that K390 is in the Nippon products, thought I would at least ask

Could be cool

Yeah, the Dyad knives seem nice!

I wonder if the molds are still useable. Seems a lot of the oldies are worn out.

That is a very good point and you may be correct . Danyablanowitz wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 10:40 pmI wonder if the molds are still useable. Seems a lot of the oldies are worn out.

Dunno if it will come to fruition, but Sal made mention of a Dyad design he was contemplating with compression locks.

The Mini Dyad is a wonderful little knife, I carried mine quite a bit.
K390 would be cool, but H1 would also be nice. Great size for travel / slicing tequila limes.

The last one was in 2011 the blue/grey in VG10 , I actually liked the clipless model a little better than the Micarta. If it would be possible to come back I would be happy with any steel . MG2

I'm checking.
On the new design, I like it a lot. It has some very nice features. the problem we're facing now is how to get the weight and cost down.

My thoughts too, Dan. The Dyad Jr. is an excellent knife. I would certainly be in for another version of the Jr. in any steel/handle combo. (The Micro is fine too, but a little too small for my preferences).Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 7:08 amThe last one was in 2011 the blue/grey in VG10 , I actually liked the clipless model a little better than the Micarta. Very intriguing. Will the new version be made in Seki?sal wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:47 amHi Jack, yablanowitz wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 10:40 pmI wonder if the molds are still useable. Seems a lot of the oldies are worn out.

So intriguing. Please keep us updated on the new design features, steel, etc. My interest is surely piqued the more we find out the details.sal wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:47 amHi Jack, yablanowitz wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 10:40 pmI wonder if the molds are still useable. If they don't get the weight and cost down, it probably won't get made anywhere.SpyderNut wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 11:00 amVery intriguing. The Jr was the one I had in mind when I started the thread. Is the maker on the Jr the same ones who have been making K390 models?
Re: FRN Mini Dyad reboot interest?
thanks for posting this pic. i didn't realize how small this was. i definitely like that. i wonder if it would be possible to put a hawkbill in for the serrated side and a leaf blade for the plain edge.
