S35VN Persistence?

Hey yall! I was perusing on BHQ and came across a fully serrated Persistence lightweight in S35VN. According to the description, it was supposed to be made available in June of this year, but it appears it is still not available. Anyone know if and when it might be coming out? I had been trying to get ahold of a dlc serrated lil native, but those seem to be unobtanium nowadays, so the persistence seemed to be a good alternative.

I would love to know when the S35VN Persistences will drop. It's a must have on my list this year.

I'm waiting for the PE. I'll do a CE on a bigger blade but a smaller one like this needs to be one or the other. Just my humble opinion of course and other probably have different experiences.

This reminds me, the Ambitious LW SE is out now. Wild that the S35VN version is more than double the 8CrMoV13 version. I’m not a market analyst but I’m pretty sure a $95 Ambitious is a tough sell purely because of country of origin. But I really like the original Ambitious.

Yes I was thinking about this when the latest Endela sprint run from DLT came out. And with prices on the Seki line remaining very reasonable.... :thinking

But honestly the designs are really good and along with the Astute and Alcyone/Polestar siblings and don't really deserve the "budget" moniker to me.

the budget line of chinese spydercos is inexpensive; not cheap. they are very well made, especially for the price, but just have lower cost materials. that's why i wouldn't hesitate to spend the extra money on an s35vn resilience. the only trouble is spyderco keeps putting other knives i want more than an upgraded resilience in front of it in line.

I got tired of waiting for the Ambitious SE in S35, so I picked up the blacked out LW in 8CR. I'm just blown away by how well put-together this little puppy is. Fit and finish are outstanding. The SE grind is pretty smooth, shallow, perfectly executed, and incredibly sharp right out of the box. I'm having second thoughts about whether I need the S35 version.

No, they really aren't inexpensive. The cheapest Persistence is $48 with FRN scales and 8CrMoV13. For that price you can get (just as an example) a Civivi Elementum with D2 blade riding on bearings and G-10 scales. $52 will get you Micarta. That is inexpensive. CRKT Pilars are even cheaper and are honestly cool enough to not care how cheaply made it is (Voxnaes designs are always awesome).

Spyderco isn't about low cost. They must have their "budget" line priced somewhat appropriately as they continue to produce them. I'm curious if the Polestar/Alcyone sales ever perked up. I wish the Chinese Spydies were a bit cheaper -- I bought both my sons their first knives in the last couple years and neither of them were Spyderco. I don't want to drop $45 on something an 8 year old can lose in 5 minutes. At least I have a lot of Spydies to pass down to them...
