Very nice, but it needs to be aligned vertically, not horizontally, if you want to enter it in the contest.

Well, I've received some positive feedback on previous versions of this, so here is my tribute to the venerable C36 Military, from my worn out Frankenmillie at the top to the very special gift at the bottom. The wheel contains every steel used in the Military so far.

Proud to say I'm one of those who said this should be in the contest! Still a great shot and an awesome display of Spyderco history right there.

Let say I have an image taken with a very high def camera that is 2225x4000, can I resize so the width is 2700 without degrading the image quality?

I did a test crop and resize to around 2700 x 3600. It looks fine on my 40inch Monitor, but I know zero about digital images/photography. Just want to make sure it's high quality enough to be useable.

Also it says 72ppi x 72ppi, that doesn't matter right? It will be 300ppi when/if printed?

You will lose a a bit of quality as you are adding 475 pixels to make your 2700 width. Printing it at a calendar size it should be fine but printing say a poster you would notice. In my opinion if it looks good to you then its fine and good to go.

I could be wrong but the 72ppi vs 300ppi does not matter so much. My understanding is it changes how big your print is. Say you have your 3600 pixel image. Printing at 10” (calendar size) that’s 360ppi. If you print 100” then it’s only 36ppi.

We were meandering through the fields of sunflowers in the Loire Valley, France, in the evening sunshine of early July.


I couldn't miss the similarity in hue of my UKPK to the vibrant tournesol (literally, "turns with the sun"). Unfortunately these hadn't turned quite enough so I had to gently tease one into position to catch the sunlight but not damage it - it wasn't my crop, after all.

My Submission.
Model: C101CBL2 Manix 2 Lightweight SPY27.

This was taken on a trail in North Georgia. At the start of the Pandemic, my family and I were looking for things to do to get outside. One thing we started and continue to this day is trail riding (Off-Roading), hiking, and camping. We have access to some beautiful trails and waterfalls. This particular spot was next to a creek where the near constant humidity allows for some really cool greenery near the bottom of the trees. The mix of moss, ferns, and saplings provide a carpet like floor to parts of the forest. This was and overgrown old dead limb in a tree towards the base of the tree and sitting at the top of the bank of this small creek. Kinda looks like a creature popping its head out of its home. This Manix is typically my hiking and camping partner.

Anyone else get an uneasy feeling when they submitted their file? Type in the information, then upload. Goes to a different screen and says you successfully uploaded. No done or close link to click on. Only link provided after the upload is "start over." If you close the window out it gives the message that "Changes you made may not be saved."

Absolutely agree, their support is awesome.

That’s a winner @Chleiti! I think it would work better with knife pointed down, but that’s a great setup.

My entry for the 2023 calendar is a special one to me. The knife featured is a C258BK StretchXL gifted to me from fellow forumite and Spyderco enthusiast, Manixguy@1994. To which he also added a custom touch with a modified Endura clip. We were able to meet up and talk story in person at a local (to us) gun/knife show this year. Which is where MG2 generously gifted this knife to me. Not only was it the first time I have met a fellow forumite, but also my very first knife show. And I had an absolute blast. So I really wanted my entry this year to honor that occasion. The Spyderbug cutout is model number BUGF and was available for purchase to forum members as a way to identify each other at knife and trade shows. At which it performed perfectly! As did the MNOSD shirt Manixguy was sporting. Another symbol of community and friendship here, with its humorous beginnings. The forum is an amazing place full of wonderful people and great friends. I hope my photo and the story behind it can convey even just a small fraction of that. And thank you Spydercrew for all you do to give us AFIs a place to hangout, learn, share, and pursue our hobby with one another!
