Jim,

i always remembered Hollywood Squares as featuring a lot of celebrities whose acting careers were mostly over. It seemed like Paul Lynde was the most popular, but I'm not sure if it was because of his quips, or because he was always the center square.

Match Game, though on a smaller scale, featured various celebrities (and a few regulars) whose careers, for the most part, were still very much active; and at the end of the show. Gene Rayburn often asked them about the projects they were working on.

The Jeffersons (1975 - 1985)

When this show first came out, Sherman Hemsley as George Jefferson reminded me of a classmate that I knew since 1st grade. They looked alike and spoke similarly. I could imagine that kid grew up to look and act just like him.

IMO, this was one of the best TV crime dramas.

Dr. Pepper Commercial, "Be a Pepper" (1977)

This series of "Be a Pepper" commercials featured David Naughton, who later starred in 'An American Werewolf in London'.

Here are three of the Marvel cartoons from The Marvel Superheroes Show (1966). They weren't as good as the Spider-Man series, and especially Hanna-Barbera's Fantastic Four series.

Here's the Iron Man and Captain America cartoons from the same 1966 show, along with the entire show's intro and outro. The songs for all of them were funny and weird.

Wonder Woman (1976 - 1979 TV Series)

The TV series was campy as ****, but IMO, Lynda Carter was WAY hotter than Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

There was a bunch of great spy/thriller type shows back in the 1960s/70s. From the UK, there was "The Avengers", "Danger Man", "The Saint"; from the US there was "I Spy", "Man From UNCLE", "Mission: Impossible" and probably others I'm forgetting.

Another UK show:

"The Prisoner" is definitely a "cult" show -- you either love it or hate it. (I'm in the "love it" camp.) By today's standards, it'd be considered a mini-series, since there are only 16 episodes. The whole show was a bit bizarre, but the final episode is truly weird.

My older brother was into "The Prisoner." I was way too young to have much of an impression or appreciation of it. I DO recall Rover (the giant white balloon that can track and suffocate people). I remember one of the suffocation scenes, but it didn't scare me, or even bother me at all; I just thought it was kinda cool. I was about 6 or 7 when I saw it on TV. Seeing that now, I know I would like the series a lot. I tend to like weird stuff, anyway.
