Spyderco Letter Opener

#1

Post by Dazen »

I would love a dedicated Spyderco letter opener. Yes I know any one of my knives can do that, but a properly shaped opener is so nice. I had an old brass one from my grandpa but finally broke and I’m looking for another.

Something with a thin long needle like fixed blade would be great. The steel wouldn’t really matter much, but an accompanying sheath would be good.

What do y’all think!

I have a S30V Satin Manix XL for that.
It only has one job.

I'd give one a look if it happens...

my sliciest spydies are the ikuchi and astute. either makes quick work of opening packages and envelopes.

i would probably like a dedicated letter opener from spyderco. it would have to be inexpensive though for such a specialty item centered on a dying for of communication. do they make a letter opener for emails?

I have no doubt that you could take your K390 Endura and jam it straight through your computer display. Actually, that would be a MUCH more entertaining test than watching folks slice through manila rope.

The classiest letter openers I know of I think is the Case Desk Knife with genuine abalone scales.

I gave one to our son after he finished a Master’s Degree at University about fifteen years ago.

If Syderco committed to making one as nice at a similar price to Case I’d consider buying one. :smiling-cheeks

I think having someone around just to open letters would be too expensive.

Not a bad idea, with the nice Spyderco logo on the end maybe.
While we are on the topic of new ideas, a Spyderco gentlemans folding straight razor would be awesome too.

Given so many suggestions of actual Spydies, I’m wondering what would prompt Spyderco to produce an intentionally dull tool.
