Not to mention, those micarta models just melt into your hand! Don't hear many people say the Shaman isn't ergonomically great, but contoured micarta brings it to the next level.

I'll add the Manix to the mix as well for size reference.

The prices on these exclusives makes me glad there are still VG10 FRN options for me…maybe my frugality has been exacerbated getting close to 50?
When I bought my Z-Wear Shaman, it was the most expensive knife I'd ever purchased. I thought it was bit extreme at close to $300 after tax + shipping, but what else are you gonna do when you want high-end steel and contoured micarta handles?

Image

Thankfully, the Shaman is no longer my most expensive knife, and I know that I won't regret spending $250-300 on it.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Cool pic! I always think “$250 is approaching a new Glock”

Oh man, I am very jealous of that. They run quite a bit more here.

I rather like the looks of this one. Not sure I'll be trying to get one but it looks good, and the M4 and micarta combo should patina together nicely.

I'd be VERY interested in that one! The thunk of that lockup could cause a small earthquake :cheap-sunglasses

I will probably give the Shaman another chance with this combo but I wish that we could get it in a Military.

Would seem a good combo, but I'm not sure it would work with the military's partial liners without introducing flex. Micarta isn't as strong as g10, so it might require modifications to the design (see the full liners on the micarta pm2 rather than nested). It's certainly possible, but I'm not sure they would want to sink the cost into it unless it's going to be regular production.

Not to mention, those micarta models just melt into your hand! Don't hear many people say the Shaman isn't ergonomically great, but contoured micarta brings it to the next level.

I'll add the Manix to the mix as well for size reference.

Great comparison pic, that's three winners right there!

I'll admit to a little FOMO on this one, but it will pass.

Thanks bud, definitely three great working knives! No problem throwing any of those in the pocket.

I’m reconsidering my aversion to this model because I really want those scales. I’m gonna buy it, strip the scales, and resell the scale-less knife.

The pic is a bit deceptive, as the Shaman and the PM2 are the same overall length. But otherwise I agree.

Wow, you're right Peter. I just had to check the specs myself. I must have been leaning to the left a bit or something to make it look like that?? PM2 definitely isn't longer as it appears in this pic.

The green micarta is holding me back. Am I missing something special about these scales?
