Which knives should I check out?

#1

Post by vivi »

Plan to take a road trip soon and swing by one of the bigger knife shops in the country. Maybe even two.

I started a list of knives to remember to check out. What do you think I should add to it? Any brand.

- ladybug salt for a gift
- victorinox chef knives (Need another for work)
- micra
- Lc200n pacific (May buy another if I find one with no play)
- Yellow se pacific (Got a dye job in mind
- se aqua salt
- new sharpmaker
- manbug salt
- manbug wharnie black
- leatherman rebar for the car
- UKPK Salt (EDC'd the og UKPK years ago, would be cool having another)
- Caribbean (Wanna see how strong the detent is. If its like my Yojumbo I'd try one)
- Autonomy 1&2
- White River Knives M1
- DMT stones

They may have already improved the detent on the Caribbean, but if not, the fix is easy and quick. You already are skilled with knife disassembly and reassembly, so no sweat for you.

Autonomy 1 and Caribbean are my most carried so you're already on the right track IMO.

Hey you should check out a Military :winking-tongue

Any time I go to brick and mortar shops I always ask if they have any new old stock laying around. These days I think most shops are well aware of what some old knives can sell for online but it never hurts to ask, I found my Centofante 4 this way.

Check out a Benchmade Claymore. They might seem cheesy, but they're a very light weight frn auto with a good sized blade, very snappy auto action, and the treatment in the CPM D2 on mine is really good.

I'd also recommend checking out Lionsteel's fixed blades. Idk if I'd personally choose one over a White River, but I've had one before and it was very nice.
