Prior MSRP/map
Hi,
Does anyone have a compiled list of Spyderco msrp and/or map pricing prior to this year's increase?
If not, I'm curious if anyone remembers what both Endura 4 flat ground vg10 and black Pacific salt 2 tinc coated h1 models were going for new from major retailers.
Thank you.

Re: Prior MSRP/map
Endura FFG wharnie SE was $91 when I purchased in November 2021. Now $95.55
Seki increased prices by 5% in 2022.
Golden went up 10% and Taichung went up 18%.
White Mountain Knives has a 10% off coupon "WSW10" you can use to drop the price to $85.99 on the E4 or $104.26 for the Pac Salt 2 TiCN

Re: Prior MSRP/map
So far this year I have purchased one knife (a Spyderco) which is down from last year's average of buying around three per month; I continue to wait on a pre-order (not a Spyderco), and I have already sold a dozen.
So many knives - so little funds!!!

Hey, Meadow. Do you remember Mister Peabody? He was a dog--a dog with a contraption called the Wayback Machine. He and his boy Sherman used the Wayback Machine to travel back in time.Meadowlark wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 10:07 am

Lucky for us, the internet has it's own Wayback Machine. Google on Wayback Machine, go there, and type in any URL. Maybe try Spyderco.com. You'll get a giant calendar. Pick out a date, and you'll be redirected to the web page as it appeared on that particular date.
I just checked out Spyderco in 2011. Also, my own web page is archived back to 1998.

Unsure if that's snark but, thank you, I wasn't aware of that site. I appreciate the help, rusty.RustyIron wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 10:18 pmHey, Meadow. Do you remember Mister Peabody? Re: Prior MSRP/map
Spyderco provides a downloadable price list with their catalogs. You can view all of the catalogs that Spyderco has released from 2006 to 2022 here - https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/download.php
MAP was first implemented by Spyderco on January 1st, 2016 at 40% off of MSRP.
It was increased to 35% off of MSRP on January 1st, 2018.
It was increased again to 30% off MSRP and has remained at that since. I am unsure of when it was officially implemented though.

Re: Prior MSRP/map
Glad it helped. It's not infrequently that I use the Wayback Machine to look up an old web page. I'm blown away that the resources are even available for such a massive endeavor. When I glanced at some Spyderco prices from 2011, I was a little surprised. I thought they would be lower. Maybe the prices we pay today are a good deal, compared to ten years ago.Meadowlark wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 10:22 pm

Re: Prior MSRP/map
MSRP is one reality, the price dealers and wholesalers pay is another, street price another yet. MSRP only tells a part of the story. We are forced to pay MAP now instead of market prices. All of it needs to be factored in when trying to compare what we consumers pay now vs back then.
