Police 4 Wharncliffe

#1

Post by MyelinSheath&Borborygmi »

In a last two years we have seen wharncliffe releases of models such as Delica, Endura, Endela, Dragonfly, Paramilitary and Manbug. We also got Canis, Yojumbo, Swayback and recently Byrd wharncliffes were revealed, too... It got me thinking if it would be possible to make a Police 4 Wharncliffe and who would want one (besides me)? ;)

Wow, that would have a finer tip than the discontinued Des Horn or the Pattadese! Just from a warranty point of view it might be out of Spyderco's comfort zone.

I think that the spine thickness near the tip could be adjusted in a way that it wouldn't be overly fragile.

I'm in!

Quite fond of the Yojumbo's blade. Would like to see more large wharncliffes.

Love Wharnie blades , do you think this would sacrifice the Police slimness? MG2

I think just as with other models wharncliffe version would not be as slim, but it wouldn't be a big difference.

That would be a heck of a blade. I think a lot of people would like it.

I’ve become quite fond of my SE Rock Jumper. I’d be all over a SE Police wharnie.

I seem to enjoy smaller wharncliffes... I never say never but I haven't bought one over the size of the Delica ( from any manufacturer) . I tried the Yojimbo but it just wasn't for me.

It would be like elongated, more contoured upcoming Cara Cara 2 wharncliffe.

I'll watch the thread and we can make a hand made proto to try out.

My wish list would be a preference for G-10 but I'd be ok with FRN. I'd like to keep the tip as pointy/aggressive as possible. K390 still my favorite.

I'd want it to have pointy tip, too. Wharncliffe blade shape would be even better than a standard one when used as a duty carry knife or in utilitarian uses.

I'm looking at a drawing right now. It's a big knife. It works. I'll get a hand made Proto from Roque and test it.

I also have a production byrd Harrrier 2 serrated Wharnie. Very nice piece.
