This is one of my special places. The nearest paved road is miles away. Great pickerel fishing too.

your panos reminded me of a fun place i visited here in virginia. the story is there used to be a small theme park with busts of presidents. when the park eventually closed, the giant busts were moved to a small piece of land and left in a muddy field. it was a creepy and amazing thing to see.

That is wild. There is definitely a message there intentional or not. And I would agree very creepy.

the pano make them seem smaller than they are. their shoulders are about 5-6 feet high.

i also agree about there being a message. maybe a few different messages.

also, if you look down the row on the right of the picture, you can see the back of a head that is almost completely missing. it's lincoln's bust. the back of it was knocked out while moving. i thought it was pretty ironic.

as a photographer and lover of history and odd things, it was the perfect excursion for me.

Oh wow, you can see that on Lincoln's head. They do look large. I was judging from the path and the cracks in the stone and took them to be sizable.

This will be a good spot for me. On the rare occasions that I'm not at work landscape photography (usually specifically waterfalls) is what I do.

I'll post a seasonally appropriate photo from New Hampshire.
