Ahem. So Sal, when do we get a Mule out of this material? Would smacking this edge to edge into an elastic ceramic mule create a black hole? :') :fearful-face

But, according to the article, first Sal has to:

"make money recycling jewelry that contains both gold and platinum"

and then

"call our precious metals consultants at 800-426-2344"

Joking aside, it appears the alloy's application is as a thin coating of high lubricity, "comparable to diamond-like carbon (DLC)" according to the article linked in the advertisement news announcement above.

If people stress out when they see marks and wear on their DLC, imagine their stress when they scratch their gold-platinum coating...

Maybe future tech could make a thin center layer of laminated steel to get diamond like edge, but how would you sharpen it?
