The Backpacker does look great as does the related bird and trout knife.

If anyone sees the Inyoni or Backpacker in stock anywhere, please post a notification here. :)
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Does this mean that we can expect to see Magnacut in CRK folders eventually?
I'd love to have a micarta Inkosi Insingo...in Magnacut. :)

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
They're already doing them in their one-offs...
I think it will eventually make it to regular folders but it will probably be a several year trickle.

So it goes.
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Yes, from what I’ve heard It’ll be a rolling change. Like they are doing to s45vn so just give it some time.
s45vn still cuts and is plenty corrosion resistant unless you’re in salt water every day

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I've been waiting for s45vn in an Insingo Inkosi, but I wonder if I might just hold out for magnacut at this point.
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Id say if one in s45vn pops up, snag it while you can. Even those are hard to come by, trying to get ahold of a magnacut one will be like trying to find a unicorn or win the lottery for quite some time id imagine.

I wonder if they'll start increasing their prices with the Magnacut. Since I've been following them the past few years, they've remained pretty steady.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Price increases are a mixed blessing. They make it easier to get what you want (because there are fewer people buying), while also (obviously) making you spend more. If raising the price of a CRK to $650 made it easier for me to find the model I wanted to buy, I'd pay.
The other option is just to order from CRK and wait (I think about 2 years at this point). I don't know how long it will be before they start taking orders for magnacut though.
At least their fixed blades are generally a bit more available than the folders--or maybe it's just that I am less picky about the fixed blades.

That's ok then, I don't want to feel like I need to upgrade mine anytime soon!

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I planned to buy at least one CRK folder one day (only one, because the next ones would be very dependant on how the heat treat feels).
But seeing the Inyoni and Backpacker, I think I like these two fixed blades more !

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I’m torn. Part of me really wants a backpacker. Part of me also knows that the Nyala’s more neutral handle will suit me better.
The rest of me knows I have too man fixed blades already!

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

You have a mess load of awesome fixed blades...but how could you pass on these now, at this point in that journey!

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I won’t lie, that Backpacker looks sweet. I need another fixed blade like I need a hole in the head though.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Lol. Me too. I'm still going to try to grab the Inyoni though. And probably the Backpacker too. If nothing else I want to hold and use the CRK B&T pattern. I've been practicing making knives in that size range in AEB-L, and I'd love to keep iterating until I build my skills up to where I feel that it's worth trying some in Magnacut.
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Ive seen some of the beautiful CRKs from this thread on the Exchange!?! Great prices BTW, but I really hope you'll be back!
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Oh no, really!? I'm not on there...any of yours??
