Who is looking forward to these? I think a Robin with teeth will be joining my collection.

A plain edge Robin will be added to my line-up.

A PE Harrier, so I can say I bought at least one knife in 2022. One I can afford anyway, lol.

I’m thinking about a Harrier 2 and Robin 2, both serrated.

One of each eventually...
Starting with a Harrier 2, unsure as yet which edge to go for although I already have a PE Delica Wharncliffe, so probably... both :smlling-eyes.

At least a cara cara and a harrier. Probably serrated as it gets the most performance out of that steel.

I’m 100% in for harrier SE. between these and the stretch 2 XL, kinda wish spyderco went all in on the harrier frn mold and made it linerless!

I love a good Wharncliffe but it's hard to get excited about new models in 8Cr13Mov. Stuff like this falls into the same category as a lot of the new 2022 models from Buck, Kershaw, and CRKT. Brands like Civivi (or Sencut relative to the Byrd line) just create too big of a quality gap too close to this price level for me to be able to justify spending on these.

If these new models were in 9Cr18Mov or 14C28N with a MAP anywhere under $50, I'd be picking up both a Robin and either the Cara Cara or the Harrier on release day. I know Spyderco is exploring options for an upgrade to the bottom line. I'll be ready to celebrate when they get there.

Since my first name is Robin, I might get one ^^

Where I live, we’ve been in an inversion fog for what feels like a month, with temps parked in the 30’s (deg F). Yet somehow, all of the shrubs and tree are budding!

I’ll be choosing between an N5 SE and the Byrd hawkbill this afternoon for pruning the laurels…but wishing it were a harrier wharnie SE

Hey all. I got a little Harbor Freight 1x30 belt sander from Santa so I decided to do some tinkering. A while back I modded a Byrd Pelican to a Warncliffe so I thought I'd try it on my Meadowlark Rescue. I did the steel removal with the sander and finished and polished by hand. It only took about half an hour. I have thought about taking the angle of the nose down a bit more, but I'll try it like this for a while and see how I like it. Here are some pics.

Quoted from my 2009 post, the original Byrd Wharncliffe... I ended up doing maybe half a dozen of these, Meadowlarks and Cara Caras. Jazz has one, which may have inspired the Jazz Delica? I haven't seen him around much lately, hope all is well.

That is nice. Really like the more acute tip.
Did you grind the serrations down to a symmetrical ’v’ and then make the new bevel?

Thanks, nope, these were available in plain edge for maybe a couple years.

I didn’t know that. And now I do. :cheap-sunglasses
Thanks.

Looks like these are starting to drop. Robin on the way. Might grab a harrier as well.

I received a Harrier last week and a Cara Cara 2 this week. Both full SE. I’ve been carrying the Cara at work as my SE compliment to a PE Spyderco. It’s zipped through twine and rope so far. It’s already shaping up to be my favorite Byrd so far. I imagine I’ll use it harder than I would my SE Spyderco’s as I’m less inclined to allow their teeth to get chewed up.

Mine are in the mail and I plan to use 'em hard, too.

Haven't picked any of these up yet (letting my wallet recover after an impulsive Yojumbo sprint run purchase) but really looking forward to getting the serrated Meadowlark wharnie & using it as a "beater" complement to my Yojimbo/Yojumbo work knives.

Got an Amazon gift card for my Birthday. I have a Harrier 2 Wharnie with full spyderedge on the way. I'm excited. Never had a full Spyderedge before.
