Salt 2- Anyone else notice this?
Salt 2- Anyone else notice this?
I have 2 Salt 2's in LC200N and in both of them there is a slight "click" when I press down with the blade when cutting heavier things. It takes about a pound or so of pressure for it to "click" and it feels similar to pressing the home button on an iPhone, but more pronounced. When it happens, I feel the blade and lock bar raise up out of the scales a tiny bit. Tightening the screws down helps it a little, but doesn't fix the problem. Since it's virtually the same design as the Delica and Endura, I checked those knives and they do it as well, except with them it's barely noticeable and takes a lot more pressure. A tad annoying how noticeable it is with the Salts.

happens with every single spyderco lockback I've owned, some more than others.
Hasn't ever presented a problem to me in use, even if it isn't confidence inspiring.

What he said.
I´ll check when I get home if this is more pronounced with the Salts. Perhaps a click is "louder" with those, since the linerless handles resonate more...
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):

It's so common it even has a name: rock lock.
Just use your Salt 2 and... Rock on!

Fact check true. Just tried all my other lock backs and yep, they all do it to some extent. After all this time, I've never noticed it. I guess, as Wartstein mentioned, these just happen to be a bit more "clicky"
