Wow! Didn’t see this coming. Love David’s designs. Can’t tell if this one has a lockbar insert given the pictures, and the description doesn’t indicate one way or the other.

Per BladeHQ:

Meet the Spyderco Stovepipe, inspired by custom knifemaker David Rydbom's "Bill the Butcher" design. This unique offering, made in Taiwan, is built to last and perform exceptionally. Among its stand-out features is the dual-role of its oversized pivot, which also prevents lockbar overtravel. Its blade, made from CPM 20CV super steel—a steel known for its incredible edge retention—comes with a deep hollow grind for the best cutting experience. If you're in the market for a no-nonsense folder that still has a unique flare, you're in the market for the Spyderco Stovepipe.

Not necessarily my kind of folder, but really cool!!

Would like to see this held in average to larger sized hand. Hard to tell from the pic how it fits there, and if XL hands will get a good four finger grip?

Almost looks like the pinky is meant for that last groove on the handle at the back end. :thinking

The Stovepipe CPM-20CV Stonewashed Blade Stonewashed Titanium R.I.L. C260TIP (Taiwan) for $420.00 is really nice even though it's pricier, heavier, wider and thicker than I'd like. What's notable is that it has a nice heavy stonewashed finish all over, machined titanium clip, titanium backspacer, no stupid lanyard hole and no ugly extra clip holes all over the place (just tip-up right-side carry).

You could really have fun texturizing that “handle” 2/3rds of the slabs.

Not usually a fan of folding cleavers, but I kind of like it. But $420 is a tough pill to swallow.

It looks like the clip has little to no retention?

The design does not talk to me. But I am super happy to see another wonderfully weird collaboration. And I am pretty sure it will be spotless and smooth.

Very cool and a unique piece, that spine gives me Jester feels. But for being a practical folder, I know where I'm going if I'm spending $400+ when it comes to well made titanium scaled knives. Anywho, kudos to Spyderco and the collab to thinking outside the box on this one!

I don’t know what to think about this one. Since it’s a regular stocked item I might let someone else go first.

I'm in. Even at $400+, it costs less than the out of stock $600+ Paysan.

Could be my sole knife purchase for the year, apart from the Swick :)

I like the tip of the Stovepipe the way it is because it makes it look like a Rhinoceros with a blunted horn!

I like the look in the open position, but folded it looks like a nightmare to pocket.

Much too clunky for me, but I love the finish and machining and I'm very glad to see a new collaboration!

Can be used as a screwdriver so it's a multi-tool.

I don't see the steel insert, is there any?

Easily my favorite knife from the reveal #9!

Don’t feel like rewording what I said in the Reveal thread so I just copy and paste my response from there. LOL

Even at $420 MAP, I have a feeling the Stovepipe will be hard to keep in stock at first! There is a lot of machine time in that knife, it’s going to be an impressive piece. There was definitely some sticker shock for me but I trust that it will be worth the cost.

The scales are “crowned” / “contoured” so they won’t just be flat titanium slabs and there is even some milling required on the blade itself. It also has a custom machined clip, which of course adds to the cost. I’m definitely excited for this one.
