Native Chief XL - FOLDER!

#1

Post by Naperville »

I love the Native Chief, the run of Native Chiefs and I know many of you do too.

Would you be down for a 4.5 to 5 inch bladed Native Chief? I think that it would sell like hotcakes.

Split the difference and make it 4.75!

Probably not. The handle is gonna be like 6 inches long, I'd never carry it.

Too big for my taste. Have to ask, "Won't the police do"?

I'm all in for the one that falls between the Native and Native Chief. Guess that would be the Chief S or XS.

Yeah I'd be more interested in a Chief with a blade around 3.5"

I’m waiting for the Chief XXL folding sword myself, but only if it includes a deep carry clip. :respect

Lol, yes.

They would have to change/reinforce the tip though. Stretching it out would reduce that very acute angle even more.

I'd like to see it happen but probably wouldn't get one. I love the Chief but a midsized model between the Native 5 and Chief would get me more excited. And with the success of the Endela and Chief I'm sure it will happen eventually.

My guess is the native chief is as big as it needs to be. Any larger and it would be past my limit.

I carry the Native Chief all of the time but it is not that large of a blade. The Native Chief is unique in design and is excellent for self defense.

I always need a folder on me just in case, but I've started wearing Winter coats and sweaters. I'll be carrying a 5.5 inch fixed blade in a week or two as soon as it gets frigidly cold out.

Spyderco would attract many Cold Steel fans with a 4.75 inch Native Chief. There just aren't many folders that reach out to the 5 to 7 inch range. I'll keep buying what I can find.

Love to have a 4.75 inch Native Chief too. Multiples of them!

We will have to put the engineers and designers on that issue!

Nope, although I'll echo the asks for a Native sized between the 5 and Chief.... Chief type construction though.

The Cold Steel Espada would finally have some competition in the folding pocket sword segment.

I think I need to try a Native Chief first - I definitely love the Military, but I don't think I need a larger pocket knife like the Espada.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

There's already the Tatanka, which seemed to have tanked pretty hard.
