What “New to You” models are you looking at for 2022?
Re: What “New to You” models are you looking at for 2022?
100% buying a Salt 2 in LC200N SE for the official dog walking knife. It will be worn in an auto deployment kydex neck sheath by whichever of us is taking the dog out and literally live on the key rack next to the leash. We live in a great area and we both carry but at 1am we tend to grab and go.

Waiting for Leaf Jumper

For me it’s the Lil Native slip joint. I have been holding out in the lil native specifically for the slip joint version. It’s getting so close! For a while I thought it may have been cancelled from the lineup after the reveal. But now knowing that it’s coming makes me want it even more. Definitely my most anticipated “new to me” model.

Waiting for Military in something other than S30V and any new Native Chief sprints that come racing by plus maybe a Kapara.

Speculative, but:
Endela wharncliffe in K390
Enuff XL (preferably sheepsfoot)
Dragonfly in LC200N
Native Chief sprints/exclusives in tool steels

I have a Rock Jumper. Love it. Don't have a Yojimbo or Yojumbo, but from what I see there is a lot to like about those models as well. May come down to preferences over size/weight, material, and lock preferences.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 10:46 amI am waiting for some exclusive Wharncliff blades . If FRN LW and backlock, I would be hard pressed to recommend another Seki warncliffe over the RJ. If someone wanted something a little "nicer", I would go with the Yojimbo even though I have never handled it. There is still a 20CV Yojimbo on DLTs website.

The MagnaCut Natve5 Salt and Lil’Natve Slipjoint will be just another (if welcome) Native and Lil’Native in my inventory.
So, nothing new to me that is of interest seems close to materializing in 2022.
But, I do have my ear to the ground regarding Sal’s Leaf Jumper, Alistair Phillips’ collabs, Shawn/Deadboxhero’s 15V collab, and a possible Chad/Xplorer collab.
I sure would like something completely new in the Signature line from Eric, but I imagine he’s way too busy with present-day challenges to Spyderco’s business, including collaborations.
EDIT TO ADD: I now have the Lil’Native slippie (well worth the wait), and I will add to the above the surprise Stretch2 XL release.

I love my Yojimbo , but as a lefty using the technique to close I find it a tad small . I think the Yojumbo would solve that issue and I do prefer bigger knives . Mileage may vary I prefer the Yojimbo over the Canis which I originally thought I would like . I like MJ design much better and have no regrets letting the Canis go .JSumm wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 10:57 amI have a Rock Jumper. Love it. Endela wharncliffe
A fully serrated knife because I'm curious.
A Chicagojimbo, or I may have a Yojimbo 2 shortened to under 3 inches depending on availability.
Manbug wharncliffe
Yet another Para 3.
Maybe a Techno 2

Seeing as the last few years consisted of me trying to find my favorite models, 2022 is going to look a little boring for me.
New models I haven’t tried but will eventually
- The new BD1N Polestar
- A CQI Siren
- Rock/Leaf Jumper
Models I’ll get a multiple of if they come around in an attractive combo
- Manix 2
- Native Chief
- Caly 3.5
- Chaparral
- Sage series
- Military
- Kapara

Polestar. I forgot about that one. That stood out on the new catalog. Looks interesting.FourStringFiend wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 1:20 pmSeeing as the last few years consisted of me trying to find my favorite models, 2022 is going to look a little boring for me.

2022 will be pretty lean for me in terms of new acquisitions. Looking to get any Mule, and the Magnacut N5.
Re: What “New to You” models are you looking at for 2022?
I feel like my knife buying journey is at a standstill. I mean, how many folding pocket knives ranging from 2.5" - 4" does one really need?? They all do the same thing. I'm satisfied with my 28 and haven't checked any websites for new knives in quite a while (mainly so I don't tempt myself)
2022 - I'm going to TRY to not buy any new knives and focus on using what I have, as well as keep trying different angles and grits for sharpening all of these. I'm finding that more exciting and more of a learning experience than buying new knives lately. (though I do know if a certain few distributors drop a certain couple knives in their exclusives...resistance will be futile!)
