Spyderco sebenza/hinderer love child.

What’s wrong with the Sebenza? No thumb hole.
What’s wrong with the Hinderer? No thumb hole.
What is Spyderco made a Sebenza/Hinderer love child titanium slabbed knife with the thumb hole?
The Paysan seems great but what about a non integral version?

Call me stubborn, I just refuse to buy a knife that uses a thumb stud. I don't care if they still work, I don't care if a hole weakens the blade. I like what I like and for the price of those brands I refuse to compromise. Like I just said in another thread, when CRK make a Sebenza with a proper thumb hole, then I'll consider it, and even then there are other design hurdles I'd have to get over first.

For me this would be the Techno 2, if it was a bit longer. Its scales feel the most CRK-like in terms of thickness, although the Burch Chubby also comes close.

I'm hoping that the company does a new run of the Paysan, as I've never even seen one in person.

Seems integral handles like the Paysan and Nirvana are hard to come by. Who knows, you could get lucky. Maybe even find a Scott Cook Lochsa somewhere.

Hinderer flippers don't have thumb studs, that's the stop pin!

CRK can add a hole... But leave my Hinderers alone! Lol

I'd rather CRK make a Sebenza with a thumb hole than Spyderco make a Sebenza. CRKT tried that one time, it didn't work out well.

I just don’t see how it could be a good fix , CRK lines don’t seem to cater to a hole in blade design . I’ve had a 21 for years very well built but I have many Spyderco knives that I feel the same about . As far as Hinderer for me that will never happen . MG2

I don’t believe there will ever be a “Spybenza.” Someone brought this up many years ago on the other Spyderco forum on BF. IIRC, Sal said something to the effect that if they ever even tried to produce a collaboration with CRK at their level of manufacturing, they would have to charge CRK prices.

what advantages do CRK and Hinderer designs have in your eyes over Sal designs?

Just bring back the Ti military and call it a day. I wish I had bought one. All I got was the ti /g10 M4 millie.

I have seen Sebenza knives that had the thumb hole modification and I think it looks great. It would be cool to see a Spyderco spin on that niche of a knife. The Slysz Bowie is pretty much that but it’s not a regular production knife. They sell for way more on the secondary market

The Slysz Bowie and a Sebenza are actually quite different. I have/had both at the same time and did some comparisons a while back whenever that KnifeJoy Bowie dropped. There's definitely a reason the Sebenza's are more expensive.

If someone designs a knife that takes cues from these without shamelessly ripping them off, we may be able to see this one day ^^. A legacy, not a copy, like the OP titled the thread.

I think those asking for this collab would be willing to pay CRK prices. I don't think many thought of this as a bargain Sebenza, but rather a Sebenza improved by Sal's input and opening hole.

It's not for me, but I can see the appeal.

Edited to fix typos.

realistically this would be about a $600 knife. An amazing high-quality knife that you always have on you would be worth it for many. Spyderco people just love that thumb hole.

If I had spent $600 on a single knife and used it daily, I'd be be better off than I am now. Just saying...
