There is place by Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, AZ.

Razor Emporium, they have web-site, U-Tube channel.

Very good selection of everything for old school shaving.

They even do restorations, and replaying of old Gillette Slims and Fatboys.

Hope to find a Slim or Fatboy at estate sale.🥳

Yeah, they have a lot of informative stuff on the internet, too. I've never purchased from them, but have been tempted a time or two.

Used my Grande R89 yesterday.
Felt old school but was a nice shave.
More sound than the Henson of course.

Used a more liquid lather.

Kicked off my morning with Electric Sheep! Perfect scent for Florida heat. I wonder if it has insect repellent properties? I’m willing to try 🤣

Used the Henson aggressive as first pass and medium for the second.
Used shaving cream directly in the face, no brush involved, worked not bad...

Any other users or tips for shaving brushless???

I saw someone lather in his hands, once. He got a decent lather and then put it all over his face. I've seen people take Arko or La Toja sticks and rub all over their faces, but then take a brush to it. My local B&M guy did mention that it is possible to go brushless, but the lather isn't as nice, I would guess.

Yes, it's not a conventional lather. It's more like a thin layer of soap. Helps the gliding.

Amazon has the Henson mk1 at a good price in Medium. Is the Medium much different from the +++ in use?

Many say yes and some say no. For me, there was not much difference in the shave except once I got some minor irritation from the +++ and never from the ++. Otherwise, I didn't notice much difference. Some, however, report better and closer shaves with less touch ups with the +++. For me, I wouldn't trade my ++ for a +++ after having bought both. But that is just me and many other people experience a different thing.

Edit: Let me put it this way, for me, there is a bigger difference between the + and the ++ than between the ++ and the +++.

Interesting assessment Doc. I notice little difference between the + and ++, but have not tried a +++. I think I’ll hold with what I’ve got.

Well, everyone's face and beard are different, so take what I said for what it's worth. For me, I like the +++, but I wish I'd been able to shave with it first. I might not have bought it (I might have though, knowing me!). I don't regret the + or the ++ at all. With the right blades the just can't be beat.

I like the medium the most.
You have more options. If you unscrew slightly it's more like the aggressive.
The mild is very mild and more for the body than face.

Aggressive is more effective.
Often 1 pass and done.

I'm thinking of selling my Henson +++ Aggressive. The ++ does all I need it to do in two passes with no irritation.

I’ve ordered a mk1 ++. We’ve a week in Florence coming up as our 25th wedding anniversary, and I want to look sharp - and to minimise the risk of unsightly irritation!

It will do a great job for you. Happy Anniversary, in advance.

Thank you!

I tried the ++ yesterday. It’s exactly as I had hoped, being a capable but less aggressive version of the +++. It’s a get-me-to-9pm shave rather than a get-me-to-3am shave, and seems to demand less care in use. I can foresee preferring the +++ for Saturdays, but time will tell.

I would not do.
It was quite a limited run.
From the aggressives out there it's the mildest.
You can still fine tune with different blades.

I think I'd rather have a Ralf Aust straight razor. They are still making the Henson +++ and I don't personally get much benefit from it, if any, over the ++. I have a Ti22. I regret buying the +++.

@Doc Dan: Any news one the +++?

I am using my aggressives more lately.
Rocca, +++
Still enjoying every shave.

After the hype around Henson seems things slowed down. Also on the B&B Henson thread.

I don't know of anything different. I still likely will sell mine, but I'm too lazy or busy to actually list it. I have three razors I plan on selling, in fact. I will keep my Henson ++ Ti22, though.
