I already have a Manix2, Shaman, and Military Model in Cruwear, so the question reminds me that I have nothing in 3V, which is not to say I want an existing model in 3V.

I'd say 3V because it is as rare as hen's teeth in a Spyderco folder. I've been asking for 3V for years. Hopefully some dealer will pick it up and start a family of 3V exclusives. I've love an Endura, Endela, Straight Spine Stretch XL, Military, and C95 Manix in 3V.

The only 3v that I have is in a Hinderer fixed blade that is basically a sharpened pry bar, but I actually like the steel. I think that it would be a great choice for a Military.

Cruwear is a known player. It's available every now and then, and in different shapes and sizes. 3V not at all. I would love to have a chance to try it in a Spydie!

I love my 3v fixed blades, just don't see the added toughness needed in a folder over the edge retention of CruWear. In all reality I would still buy a 3v folder, but would question myself on why.

I understand the arguments, but if they were able to use 3V with the Delta heat treat that Nathan Carothers uses in his fixed blades, it would be more like Cruwear on steroids with no real downside.

I have several Spyderco models with Cruwear but none with 3V. So I didn't vote but I will say that I've been happy with Cruwear

I've got both (not all Spyderco models) They seem to act kind of similar to me. 3V maybe with a bit better edge retention when comparing my Guardian 3 and Shaman since they both have similar thickness and have been reprofiled to the same degree.

As a sprint run or new model? 3v because it's rarer in the Spyderco line up. As an 'only knife you are allowed to EDC'? Cruwear for better balance of properties. Given a wider choice, I'd take 4v/v4e over either one, though.

My Guardian 3 in Cruwear seems to have better edge retention than my Guardian 3 in 3v. They are both FFG with factory angles. I suspect that if I thinned them out, the 3v would be able to sustain a thinner edge and therefore have a geometry driven edge holding advantage.

I also voted 3V with the delicate tips of my favorite models in mind.

The answer is "Yes!", but I chose Cruwear as I find it more balanced.

DBH is ultimately correct, however.

Hahaha yes MagnaCut! (I did vote Cruwear) I can’t imagine needing a tougher steel, so the alternate properties complement to Cruwear/MagnaCut would be something like K390. Or 15V if we ever see it :winking-tongue

15V is my greatest hope for the next Millie. I hope that DBH is good with this idea because my best guess is that he has tested a lot of it.

Cruwear has around 60 more total cards cut according to Larrin, so it gets my vote over 3V.

But maybe @DeadBoxHero is right and the proper answer is MagnaCut.
