I have about 30 Spydercos in my collection. What I realized is that I don't have any with carbon fiber scales.

What are your top picks for a first carbon fiber scale knife to add to my collection?

S90v native chief is a perfectly executed CF knife.

Make sure it's peel ply carbon fiber (solid carbon fiber with a grippy texture)

I second the S90v Native Chief CF... and they are slowly disappearing everywhere.

Kapara! An excellent knife in general and the contoured CF is amazing in both looks and feel.

Kapara, without a doubt.

Solid carbon fiber is pretty rare in a Spyderco regular production model. I think we only have the fluted Native, Kapara, and Caly 3.5 currently.

The laminate is much more common and available. Likely a Taichung model too.

Your best bet would be to hunt down a sprint/exclusive in CF if you want solid and not laminated.

Edit: My first CF was the fluted Native. Can’t go wrong with that one. If you can find one

Personally, I like my CF Chaparral. It's my "dress" knife.

The Native Chief in S90V, Kapara or your pick of the para 3, PM2 or Millie in 52100 are all fantastic examples.
