Since I had the mules corralled up and finished working on the Z-max, I thought I'd share a photo.
I'm to try to turn this thin-blue-line sheet of Kydex into a sheath but I'm not sure how to get the most effect out of it...

Professional looking work. The liners bring out the blue in the scales.

My mules saw your photo and asked why they have to wear paracord when other mules get such fancy clothes.
I told them that life's not fair and pipe down.

Is the bottom mule in the photo above with
purple heart handles? If so, how did you get the purple back? When I cut purple heart it just looks brown.

New to me. I really like the color (s). I don't think our north american Eucalyptus looks anything like...will check.

Australia has many great hardwoods, most hardwood lists in the US mostly only include north and South American hardwoods and a few northern hemisphere species.
We have a few that loggers wouldn’t touch in the early days due to hardness and wear on their bodies and gear. (Axe and hand saw days)
Here is a list of some of the common with some striking colours

Wow! Long live the Australian woods! Stunning. Many of them eucalyptus varieties. Didn't even know that Turpentine was a tree...ignorance isn't pretty...!

Flock has a fledgling
Probably a better indicator of colour once done.

Clogged a bit of sandpaper too then….. it’s a tough old timber to work with.

This helps a bit. It's intended for drywall sanding but it works really well on gummy wood. Just lift, vacuum and repeat

Can't thank you enough for gifting these scales to me! It's been a pleasure working with. I tried to get as many photos I could to do a small write up on the process once it's finished.
