I have like 500€ of wood scales in my stock, but I finally decided I can't live without ringed gidgee... New mission !

Picked up some Myall a cpl months back. Seems like a darker cousin? Are they similar to work with sanding/finishing wise?

Myall might be a bit harder to work with a touch more of a resin. Both a very dense timber.
Gidgee probably has a better colour when quilting due to being lighter, but Myall can look just as good for the AAA grade pieces

Wow! Just started on my first set of scales for my mule out of olive wood and G10 liners. Will be my second time making scales 🤞. Always good to have inspiration 😃

Played around with some muriatic acid and some carbon fiber tubes to make a Mule to be different than my usual style. This was a beat up and scratched PD#1 Mule.
