I would surmise the life expectancy of a “highly modified Chevy2” isn’t particularly long

AFAIK i have all the C22 variants (except SE/PE of each) It was, and is an awesome knife for sure!Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 6:56 pmWhat a beauty , nice to see this post . Your C22 appears to be the first run which had the shiny CF , and on the blade it should have three names , Walker , Spyderco and Klotzli. It was hard to make out on the blade but scales should confirm my guess . A very close friend has maybe every variation of the Walker design and I have handled them over the years . They are incredibly smooth to open , like glass . I always passed on them being a lefty but I admire the workmanship immensely. Thank you for sharing . IMO, it out-Dragonflys the Dragonfly, with a lot more edge in the same length handle and, for me at least, an even more comfortable handle. However, if recreated today with the same Walker lock, it would lose the weight battle to the Dragonfly. If recreated with a back lock, it wouldn't really hold to the spirit of the C22. But it would be a downright awesome little knife!

Part of the Klotzli design . Many of their knives have a similar pivot look . They also made a fixed blade that is very nice . The blades were made in house at Spyderco and shipped to Switzerland fitted and returned naked . Spyderco did all the engraving on the blades . Dan

In my opinion, one of Spyderco's most elegant creations, the A.G. Russell exclusive AGSP-1W Jess Horn II. This is cheating a bit, because this knife has only been carried once, never cut, and is not being carried today. But it's definitely a throwback.

This is a fun thread! So many that I’ll prob never be able to make happen.
Those jess horn knives are classy though

^ Apart from Swiss army knives, I don't have much experience with slipjoints, but I have to say that the Pingo is very nice indeed.

I disagree on it surpassing the Dragonfly, this model is more Lil Native to me.Larry_Mott wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 6:30 amAFAIK i have all the C22 variants (except SE/PE of each) It was, and is an awesome knife for sure!Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 6:56 pmWhat a beauty , nice to see this post . Probably one of my favorites today the Wegner.

Re: Throwback Thursday Carry
One of my Spyderco regrets is never picking up a Wegner. For several years I carried the C15 Bob Terzuola (below, top) as my primary hunting knife, and never felt undergunned with its 3 3/8" blade. When the C48 Tim Wegner was released, I saw it as an improvement over my Terzuola but, by that time, my hunting knife philosophy had changed to the extent that neither really fit my preferences.
Still, years later I saw the BladeTech Pro Hunter (a Wegner company and Wegner design) at a gun show, and couldn't resist. A few changes to Wegner's Spydie include S30V vs ATS-34, choke-up jimping, a more neutral handle, a finger choil, 4-position clip, screws vs pins and, of course, a non-round hole. Whether these are improvements or not is a matter of opinion but, in any case, the overall design of both the C48 and the Pro Hunter is the best of any folding hunter I've ever held in my hands.
