Plato's Wish List

#1

Post by Plato »

I have been a big fan of Spyderco for many years. I bought an Endura back in the early 90's. It is very dull. I plan to send it back to Spyderco to be sharpened soon. I use it at work to open stock for assembly line workers. I'm a jitney driver at DCX Canada.

I want to buy a new Endura soon. I like the handle design on my old one better though. I'm referring to the butt end of the handle. I don't like the new design.

I also want a Delica. I think the Delica would be a good idea for reasons of political correctness. Its not too big like the Police Model, but just as useful. I hate compromising with political correctness, but the Delica just makes good sense. It doesn't look threatening. We should always be careful where we open Spyderco knives, and be aware of who's watching, but I don't think the Delica gives much cause for concern.

I also want the carbon fiber Police Model. I hope there are still some left. The carbon handle of my Endura feels nice in my hand. I have wanted a PM for almost 10 years now.

I also want the PM tie clip, and maybe the necklace. I hope they are not sold out yet. Money's tight. We are in the process of selling our house and moving to a big one. I'll see if I can squeeze out a few hundred bucks within the next month or so. I hope I'm not too late. Does Spyderco offer layaways? (I'm half-joking)

When I remember that I don't have a PM or a PM tie-clip, I feel like I just lost $10,000.

I think I'll call Spyderco on Monday and ask them about their stock.

We have an 8A Endura, and I to prefer the molded clip shape, and feel. On the Delica, I prefer the new one. RKBA!

Interesting how many people here preffer the old style (pre 98) Delica / Endura. Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY happy with my new Delica(s), I fully understand the necessity of changing the handles, yet I'd still like an older one...
OTOH, you may want to try the C05 Standard. It has G-10 scales <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>, ATS-55 blade (which is a very underrated steel IMO <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> ) and it's even more "pollitically correct" than the Delica (a wee bit smaller, yet with a thicker blade) <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
