Native 5 authenticity

Postby DayDreamer88 » Fri Jul 09, 2021 4:52 pm

Hello. New member here. Wanted to get some feedback on this Native 5 that I recently purchased from eBay. I’ve been collecting knives since I was a teenager, but I never paid much attention to Spyderco until very recently. So this was my first purchase of one. Today I received my para 3(lightweight) from BladeHQ ...upon inspecting of it, I began to question the authenticity of my Native 5. The bevels on the para are so perfect... nothing like how the native came. The para also lives up to my standard of “sharp”... right out of the box. The native 5 was sharp, but nothing like this. It also does not seem to hold an edge very well(maybe it’s the bevels?) The texture on the FRN scales is a little different between the two. The native 5 seems to have more pronounced and aggressive texturing than the para 3. The very last thing is the native 5 box has a upc sticker that is for a native 5, but it is placed over another sticker(para 2). Any insight is very much appreciated.
