That knife may be "priceless" to the survivor but it's worth about $10 to me.

From my admittedly limited experience with situations/events like these, the people who were genuine victims will very seldom want to profit or benefit from the experience in any way whatsoever afterwards. But alas, we live in strange times.

Linking the forum in the ebay post is especially shady. I really shouldn't be so surprised though.. I guess wherever there's a cool story to be told, there will be at least one clown looking to profit off of it..

I saw that in the description. It takes all kinds, I guess.

Would have made more sense as an auction, I think.

I doubt even if Ted Bundy or Gary Ridgway owned it as their daily flipper it would fetch 5k.

Kudos to Yegor. The guy telling the story bought it off Yegor. Perhaps Yegor sold it to him to help pay hospital bill or something cuz he's probably gonna be out of work for a bit. Not gonna draw any conclusions about the story teller who bought it off Yegor and put it up on E-bay. Maybe he's doing it to help out Yegor.

Indeed!

Maybe he sells the bear with the knife.
That would explain the costs.

It's not the first fake story to sell something.

Even if the story is 100% legit, and I doubt it is, the knife has little to no extra value because of the alleged incident.

I think people on eBay are going to see what they want to see.
