Para 3 and Para 3LW Blade swap?

Have a good day, everyone! Just out of curiosity, if Para3 and Para3 LW blades swappable? Currently have P3 Sprint Forest Green. Wondering if swap DLC blade from LW version?

Well - Nick Shabazz did swap blades between LW and G10 version and had no issues. I was considering it too (would love to get Maxamet in blue LW handle). Just try it - the blade do have the same shape, the only question is whether the DLC coating is going to make a difference.

I have personally tried this between an M390 Para 3 and a REX 45 Para 3 LW and it worked fine. I did it mostly because I was curious, but it’s important to note that both of my blades were satin finish. I have no idea how the DLC coating will affect this swap.

I tried to take the 20cv blade from the recent knifejoy LW exclusive and put it into the m390 g10 para 3 from DLT and the fit was too tight.

I could fully seat the blade and open and close it but there was too much resistance, and it almost felt like it would have a half stop before more resistance in either closing or opening.

These two knives were pretty far apart in terms of production though, so ymmv? Try to keep the models relatively close in terms of production date I guess.

FWIW I have swapped DLC & Satin in both directions (Para3 <-> Para3 LW) without any issues from more than a half dozen different models and have yet to come across a problem.

I have personally swapped into the LW frame: maxamet, s110v, rex45, m390. The latter two were in the days before the LW versions came out. They all worked fine both ways.

Yes! Added micarta scales too, great little knife.
